Q. Told 8 year old Lab has heart murmur. Exams every year never noted before. Advised no problem or treatment. Dog appears healthy, very active, should I

Answered By

A. Many animals have heart murmors and live a perfectly normal life. Often they can be picked up on one veterinary visit but not on the next, if your vet isn't concerned or wanting further investigation then don't worry. Have them recheck the heart on its next visit. If you notice any other symptoms in the meantime such as coughing, breathlessness then see your vet sooner.
