Q. My yorkie has bloody slimy stool. Has been kept at the dog daycare all week due to vacation. Stress? or something more?

Answered By

A. It could be stress, change in diet or a colitis. Fresh blood indicates bleeding low in the intestinal tract and isn't as serious as black / digested blood. If it has been once or twice I wouldn't worry about it too much if no other symptoms. If there are other symptoms such as vomiting or lethargy or it has been going on longer then you should have your dog examined by your vet as soon as possible.
