Q. I believe I have removed a warble from under my Maltese's skin. Now what? What are the chances that it was not a single larvae? Is swollen tissue OK?

Answered By

A. Ideally they should be removed by your vet so they can provide appropriate treatment after. It is likely to be just the one in that hole. I would recommend cleaning it with salty water a few times a day and have it checked by your vet as soon as they open. Put one teaspoon of salt in a pint of boiled water and leave it to cool down.
