  • 1. Another Great Vet and Staff

    by: scheney

Loved the way he treats the animals, his knowledge of animal diseases, illnesses, etc. He treated our cat recently when we couldn't get her into our normal vet. He was great and I would certainly consider returning to him again in the future for our pets once our current vet leaves the area! Great staff - they really love animals here!

    Pros

    Very knowledgeable Dr. and Staff

    Cons

    Small Office space

  • 2. Have used them in the past

    by: lacaamano

I have used this clinic in the past for some of my animals. They always had good care, and the staff there are caring and supportive. I do find their prices high, and there are a lot of suggestions for testing that may or may not be necessary, in my opinion.

    Pros

knowledgeable, caring staff, reliable after hours

    Cons

    fairly expensive

  • 3. Excellent Vet!

    by: alicia2486

I've been to several vets over the years that I've had animals and Trout Brook is by far the best. They are a bit more pricey than the other vets in the area, but their quickly of care is so much better. I have two cats and they are terrified of the going anywhere. The vet techs at Trout Brook are so amazing with them. They give them treats and lots of love and attention. You can tell that they love their job. They also keep me really informed. I never had cats until I moved into my own apartment, so I wasn't sure about the all the different types of services they needed and Trout Brook answered all my questions and offered me affordable solutions. A great place to take your pet! I would recommend them to anyone!

    Pros

    friendly staff, comfortable, well-paced

    Cons

    pricey

  • 4. My visit to Trout Brook

    by: nbrockstar

I recently visited Trout Brook with a friend and was impressed! Very friendly staff! The waiting area is outstanding and made for the comfort of both the pets and the owners with sunny windows and a homey feeling. I sat in on an appointment and the veterinarian's rapport with both the pet and client were very evident. The facilities in general were beautifully done.

    Pros

Very pleasant office, clean, friendly staff

    Cons

None that I am aware of

  • 5. THE BEST VET EVER!!!!

    by: margo052002

I love this office, everyone is so nice to my St. Bernard, Katana, and they really seem to care about how she is doing. They specialize in larger animals, which is a plus because I have a large dog and they are very good with her. She gets very nervous at the vet, and they do a great job of making her feel much better and trying to make her as comfortable as possible. I have taken Katana to a different vet on two different occasions in order to save a little money. Both times I was severely disappointed and I have learned my lesson. The second time I went to a different vet, I ended up having to go to Trout Brook anyway because the other vet did such a terrible job taking out her porcupine quills (they missed ten quills!!!). Trout brook took excellent care of her and she has recovered very nicely since then. THANK YOU TROUT BROOK!!!

    Pros

    compassionate, intelligent, friendly, great staff!

    Cons

    a little pricey

  • 6. A great vet!

We've been using Trout Brook for almost 4 years and wouldn't take our dogs anywhere else.

Very knowlegeable and caring vet and staff

    Cons

Maybe a little pricy, but you get what you pay for...

  • 7. good

    by: DaisysMom1

I took a dog there once, they talked me into tests that I don't believe needed to be done, and the cost was much more than I expected. All I went there for was routine shots since my regular vet was out of town and I needed the rabies vaccination done to relicense the dog.

    Pros

    Nice and clean

    Cons

    Cost

  • 8. local vet

    by: katym77

From reading other folks reviews, I think a lot of people have had a very positive experience with this vet. The only time one of my cats went there, he was misdiagnosed and given the wrong treatment. May very well have been a one time thing. Another local vet diagnosed him properly. They are pretty pricey considering you can get very good care for your pets in area clinics

    Pros

    close to home

    Cons

    expensive

  • 9. Knowledgeable and caring staff

    by: cladue

Dr. Michael Smith and his staff are the best! They not only treat your pet. They are affectionate toward the animals and take very good care of them. Dr. Smith discusses your animals illness and needs very well. We will bring our bird there whenever it needs medical attention. We will also board our bird there while on vacation with the utmost confidence that it will receive the best of care. Thank you Dr. Smith and staff.

  • 11. First Kitty Check-up

    by: Chelijo85

I learned about Trout Brook from a friend who had brought many of her cats there for services. I recently was taking care of a litter of kittens from my boyfriend's barn and I ended up adopting one of them. \r\n\r\nThe staff at Trout Brook was very friendly and very loving towards my kitten. Of course he tried to be a little man and flirt with them. \r\n\r\nSince this was my first cat experience, they were very helpful with suggestions and did (as far as I knew) a complete examination of my little fellow. I even received a booklet and a free jug of kitten food. My kitten was pronounced health and devoping very well, which was a relief since I was his mom from only a couple days old. \r\n\r\nBesides having a friendly and helpful staff, I was able to schedule an appointment the day after I called. It was wonderful not having to wait to get in. \r\n\r\nToday I received a thank-you card from the clinic. :-)\r\n\r\nThank you Dr. Smith and staff!\r\n\r\nCheryl J.

When I first moved to area I went here with my dogs. My dogs never felt comfortable here. My dalmation is downright afraid of him. She loses tons of hair, shakes the whole time there. It is the only time in her life she pulls when on a leash, she is trying to get out of there.

    Pros

    close to home

    Cons

Vet not good with my dogs, dalmation afraid of him.

  • 16. Would not go anywhere else

    by: deneshnr

I have found that trout brook is the best clinic in the north country. Mike Smith is always explaining anything that you do not understand to its fullest. He also has a draft horse team that we talk about together. I would not leave my pet anywhere else. The only down fall is that the clinic has a high price for its facilities but it is definitely worth it.

    Pros

They always make it a point to know your animals name

    Cons

    a little pricey
