My husband and I have had cats for many years, have lived all over the country, and have seen many vets. None of our other vets compare to Dr. Taylor and Dr. Huey at Barnes Mill.\n\nFirst and foremost, they love cats and are excellent with them. Secondly, these two vets and their staff do more for abandoned animals, feral cats, and injured homeless animals than many rescue groups.\n\nWhile we lived in the area and went to BMAH, we got help from them for a number of situations, including having a feral cat spayed, adopting out found kittens (and they are strict about who gets to adopt), putting down two cats, seeing a sick cat on a Sunday (more than once!), helping us to handraise a 2 week old kitten, and calling to answer a question, ask how one of our cats was doing, or providing test results on weekends and at night.\n\nThe staff was always helpful, be it during an emergency or a regular visit.\n\nBoth vets also explained things to us and spent time with us--we never felt rushed. We always got thorough information and all of our questions were answered.\n\nAlthough we would have loved for the entire office to move here with us, I know that BMAH is doing great work to help all animals, especially the cat population, in the Richmond area, and they are much needed there. However, we still miss them!
