  • 4. Small but Committed Shelter

    by: fastcars

This is a relatively new organization that was started by a small group of concerned citizens. The shelter was a county facility which was turned over to the organization to operate. With the exception of 1 paid employee, all cleaning of the shelter and caring for the animals is provided by volunteers. If the volunteers aren't in the shelter working, they are out fundraising. Isn't that right, Brenda? They primarily only accept dogs and have a great record of finding homes for them through adoptions and rescues.

    Pros

    Dedicated volunteers

    Cons

    Small group of volunteers

These people really care about the animals and really try to find the best home placement for animals. They coordinate with other rescues and try to do what is best for the animal to give them the opportunity to find a good home.

    Pros

these people really care about the animals

    Cons

    none

  • 6. true love for animals

    by: juliawv

Taylor County is a wonderful shelter. It may not be a fancy top of the line shelter but they have super special people who actually care about the animals living at the shelter. They could be better serving the animals if they only had water lines ran to the shelter. Could you imagine not having water lines ran to your house? The animals and people at the shelter need it and deserve it badly.

    Pros

They will do whatever it take to help the animals

    Cons

They don't have water lines available

  • 7. Great shelter

    by: psliderc130

this is a great shelter that has come a long way in the past few years. They are really trying to help the animals in this area which had no hope for help a few years ago. They need this renovation to help them get running water for the shelter. they have lots of loving animals looking for homes if you are interested and they are very helpful in finding you a pet that you will do well with. If it would happen to not work out, they will take any/all of the pets back and try to find them another home.

    Pros

people are really doing this to help the animals

    Cons

They are a new shelter with not a lot of resources yet and need donations

    by: pslider

This shleter keeps animals as a top priority. They have good people helping them. They are very helpful in finding the pet for you and your family. Great at introducing current pets to a new addition. They started with nothing and are trying to get running water brought up to the shelter and can use your help. I personally volunteer at this shelter and fostered a dog which I ended up adopting. They try to adopt animals out and give them to other rescues to increase their chances of finding a good home. If you are looking for an animal in this area, it is a great place to find a pet fitted to your wants and it helps out an animal at the same time.

    Pros

    Great staff and volunteers

    Cons

Needs more help to keep up the good work
