  • 1. Great People Working at Shelter

    by: biancamarisa

The staff suggested the perfect dog for me. Gary is wonderful. He gets along with our cats, kids, and other dogs at the park. He is GOLD- a good old lazy dog.

    Pros

    Insightful staff

    Cons

none that other shelters don't have

  • 2. Thanks

    by: lazerlady

My husband and I adopted both of our dogs from SAS and we couldn't imagine haveing any other dogs. Our first dog was adopted as a puppy and has grown into our hearts and home. Our second dog was adopted as an adult. She had been abused and mistreated by her previous owners. The staff at SAS helped her recover from her abuse and directed our attention to her as her time was almost up at the shelter. Once we got her home she quickly became a well behaved housebroken dog who made quick friends with our other dog. Thank you to the staff for taking care of our dogs and all the pets that pass through your doors.

    Pros

    Great Friendly Staff

    Cons

    none

These people deserve to have a shelter makeover because no one works as hard or cares for animals like they do! TRULY!!! Springdale is one of a kind WE LOVE THEM!

    Cons

    NONE

  • 4. Working to make things better

    by: bcoo

Please continue the good work of saving animals and finding forever homes. Please reconsider allowing intact animals to be adopted. One intact animal reproducing can ruin much of the good work you do.\r\nThanks to anyone who works and volunteers for the benefit of homeless pets.

    Pros

Trying to place animals and implement great changes

    Cons

Allowing unaltered animals back into the public(esp PB's)

    Pros

    Nice and friendly people

    Cons

I wish they had the funds to be a no kill shelter

  • 6. A Small Shelter With Big Goals!

    by: angelpetsitters

Springdale Animal Services is a shelter that has come a long way. The new director, Lindsey Droste, has worked miracles and has reached out to the community for volunteers and assistance, which has earned her a great deal of respect and admiration. Everyone wants to help, and Lindsey is welcoming volunteers! The present shelter facility was built many years ago, so the animals and staff have outgrown the facility. I would dearly love to see the shelter win the ZooToo cash prize, so that they can either build a new shelter or add on to the present one.

    Pros

Motivated new director has made huge improvements!

    Cons

Shelter is small, needs more room.

  • 7. A little shelter with a big heart

    by: teressajo

I recently suffered the death of my beloved little dog and visited the shelter several times to help ease my loneliness and sorrow. They were very helpful and compassionate. I adopted a 10 year old dog that they had received from an owner with terminal health issues. They were very motivated to place this dog in a good environment and extend her life as long as possible. I don't think many shelters would accept such a senior dog and work so hard to place it.

    Pros

They are caring people who work hard to save animals

    Cons

The shelter is very small and greatly needs a makeover

  • 8. Spay/Neuter

    by: stark1

This shelter is doing great work at improving and upgrading their facilities and standards of care. They are currently trying to put together a program for spaying and neutering all outgoing adoptions (which would be wonderful!!!!) but unfortunately so far funding is an issue.\r\n\r\n

    Pros

Trying to put together a program for spay/neuter

    Cons

Don't have enough money to spay/neuter everything that comes in
