This shelter is doing the lowest cost spay and neuter in 3 counties! They also get great media coverage for pet of the week on T.V. They try harder!!!

    by: scoopem

We went in for the Neutermania program. It cost $5 to neuter a male cat. He was dropped off at 6:30 AM, checked before we left to make sure he was healthy enough for the surgery. We picked him up @ 1PM. We also got him vaccinated and put flea control on him. All for less than $100. What a deal!! \r\n\r\nThis really encourages people to get their animals neutered or spayed. I even saw some people with feral cats in there. At that price the only hard part is catching them.

Very friendly for the most part. Did a great job for a little money.

The lady at the counter at pick up time was a little rude because she didn't know what time was OK to pick up the cat after surgery. When corrected she got a bit of an attitude.

  • 4. A great shelter worth the trip!

This is a great facility and organization for animals in Monterey County. The facilities serve to make the animals, especially the cats, more comfortable. Love that outside cat room! You can tell the staff really care for the animals in the shelter. The customer service can be a bit inconsistent but they are very knowledgeable. Sometimes it's hard to find someone around to ask questions so out and volunteer for them! It's definitely worth a trip out to see them. They have a spay/neuter clinic on site with a great vet. If you adopt from them, you won't have to wait long to pick up you're new critter. I also liked that they emphasis education with the information and advice they offer to the public. That is the key to helping our four-legged friends.

    Great facility. light cheerful kennels

Need more staff/volunteers around for customer questions
