  • 1. The Staff is First Rate!

    by: luvmyboyz

We searched MANY shelters, looking for just the right dog- (cocker spaniel) and the staff showed me a dog that had just come in, wasn't even out for people to see yet, because he was so badly malnourished and sickly that they didn't have him in the kennels with other dogs. This little one looked at me, and melted my heart. My hubby was skeptical thinking the dog was not healthy and would probably die on us- the staff was so supportive, urging us to take him and the other dog from another shelter we were contemplating. I am sooooooooooooooooo thankful they gave us the gentle push to take both- we did, and this one just needed some food he didn't need to fight for, and lots of TLC. Two years later we have 2 healthy boys that are brothers in spirit and won't leave each others side. We are so blessed, and if it hadn't been for the staff at SBCity Shelter we wouldn't have saved our little miracle boy and he just might have been put down. Can't thank them enough!

    Pros

    Definitely the staff

    Cons

Older shelter, needs lots of upgrades

  • 2. Good people who appear to really care

    by: tooswtcari

A friend and I were looking for a dog for her to adopt and went to alot of shelters prior to this one and not only did she adopt but so did I. The staff is very caring and happy. My new guy is wonderful. The shelter itself is the best it can be for the age and lack of funding it receives. The staff really helped us the during the whole process and asked us to keep them updated on each of the boys. I would recommend checking them out if your looking to adopt, it will be worth your time.

    Pros

staff, care of the animals, ease of adoption

    Cons

    older outdated shelter
