In 2006, on our yearly trek to Michigan's Upper Peninsula we stayed in this hotel with my dog, Porsche. The room was reasonably clean with no animal odors. There was a $10 per night extra pet charge with a limit of 2 pets each weighing 25 pounds or less. Porsche is just a couple pounds over that but I didn't volunteer the information and nobody said anything. The hotel is located close to I-96 at exit 28. However, that year they were rebuilding the interstate and we had to take a detour and got lost. After a year and a half, I would think the construction is complete. There were restaurants and fast food places up to four blocks away. The only pet amenity was a large mowed grassy area to walk Porsche. The hotel was also close to Route 131 which we drove on the following morning to get to Sleeping Bear Dunes National Seashore. So, I would recommend the hotel to anybody who might be traveling in the Grand Rapids, MI area with a pet.
