  • 1. Peach Tree Animal Hospital Is the Best!

    by: cindybrodhacker

We first started going to Peach Tree Animal Hospital a couple years ago when we needed assistance with one of our dogs on a weekend. We could not reach our previous vet, as we found out they referred their off-hours calls to someone else. Peach Tree answered our needs immediately on a Sunday afternoon. We have taken our dogs to them ever since. Dr. Moseley and Dr. Leach are the best vets we have ever worked with. They are caring and compassionate and truly care for the animals they work with. The staff at this vet clinic is optimal. They are always willing to help and go out of their way to answer any questions we have. I highly recommend this clinic for your veterinary needs!

    Pros

I can think of all "pros" to use these vets!

    Cons

    absolutely no "cons"

  • 2. The most caring vets you will ever know.

    by: K9Jazz

Jill Moseley, DVM & Chris Leach, DVM are the best vets in the free world! Each time I visit them with one (or more) of my dogs, it's like having a close family member care for their health. You just can't beat that!

    Pros

    All Pros!

    Cons

    No Cons!

  • 3. my favorite vet!

    by: shannynnorth

The staff at Peach Tree does their business with the personal touch. whether it's emergency calls or regular calls, they remember your case and can easily willing to talk about it with you later when you need a follow up advice. I appreciate their dedication to Second Chance rescue animals and SNAP feral cat trapping because spay/neuter is the answer Columbia needs. they always participate in community events and are a big supporter of rescue.

    Pros

friendly like a family, good memory of pets condition

    Cons

opposite side of town from where I live

  • 4. Great staff and vets

    by: Oskarpupper

I started out with another vet when we got out puppy. He got really sick - he couldnt walk and it looked like he had a seizure. We took him in, but it was closing time on a Friday night the vets had left for the night. They didnt do much other than gave him something to boost his energy and he pepped up. We came home and he got worse. My friend who works for the Central MO Humane Society called Dr. Mosely and asked for advice. Dr. Mosely agreed to meet us at the office. She had never seen our puppy before. Yet, on a Friday night, she met us at the office setting aside her evening plans to help a new patient. She ran some test, gave him some fluids and kept him for the night. We never did determine what made him sick, the next day he was much better. I recommend Peach Tree Animal Hospital to everyone I know. The staff has always been very welcoming and warm and they treat my dog like he is the greatest patient they have.

    Pros

    After hours emergency service

    Cons

None that I can think of

  • 5. An animal rescuer's best friend

    by: Dub

I first met Drs. Mosely and Leach when I began volunteering with Columbia Second Chance 9 years ago. At that time, they were on staff at Columbia Veterinary Hospital. Three years ago, they started their own practice, Peach Tree Animal Hospital. Fostering rescued animals is a special challenge. You rarely know about an animal's past care, so when something crops up, you don't always know if it's chronic or not. Chris and Jill take the time to explain an animal's illness to you in laymen's terms. I've had dozens of cats and kittens and a few dogs and pups (but I keep adopting the dogs, so I have to limit that). Peach Tree offers Columbia Second Chance substantial discounts on vet care, but never stint on care. They led me through a cat diabetes case last summer, cases of F-leuk positive fosters, too many cases of non-specific diarrhea, infection, and vomiting. They provide on-going care for my special-needs fosters (such as Mary Jane who's on a special diet, and is also allergic to fleas). Not once have I taken an animal there and not received first-class care.

    Pros

    Knowlegeable and caring

    Cons

    Can't think of a thing

  • 8. Excellent place for pet care!

    by: lovescats44

I just love this place! They will even board your animals, even if the animals do not come to them for vet care. Their boarding kennels are like posh hotel suites. They are very inviting for a pet that has to stay away from home. My cats did very well the weekend we were gone.

    Pros

    Extremely nice people

    Cons

  • 9. Reliable Veterinary Service

Ever since this clinic opened in southwest Columbia, it has added to our veterinary services in our area. Both veterinarians are very knowledgeable and helpful. They have been extremely supportive of Columbia Second Chance in many ways including discounts for their services.

  • 10. The only place to go

    by: fizert

I first experience with Dr. Leach was when I had to put down my 16 year old toy fox terrier. He had never met Valkyrie before. Dr. Leach was so gentle and he talked to Valkyrie the whole time. When Mackenzie adopted me I knew exactly where to take her. Dr. Leach and Dr. Mosley are second to none. Mackenzie had three surgeries in 6 months. The care she received was outstanding.

    Pros

    Compassion and care

    Cons

  • 12. never let down

    by: Lozzy

I have only had my dog ozzy for 14 months, and he has already been there for being sick, slicing his leg open, and cutting his eyelid almost clear off. He was also neutered there. Dr.Jill Mosely has taken such good care of him and my other dog Louie, that Ozzy loves going there each time, and gets the most excited when he goes there for some odd reason. They are all so friendly and remember each pet.

    Pros

there is never a wait, they can get you in anytime

    Cons

    other side of town

  • 13. I recommend this vet to every pet owner I meet!

    by: ecogirl

Dr. Chris Leach is a godsend. I have 3 rescued dogs which have experienced a range of problems from minor skin irritations to car accidents. As a fairly new dog owner, I have had some admittedly naive questions, but the Dr. and his staff are always understanding and take the time to listen. They always have a positive attitude and encourage new things to try- and they never say "I don't know" or rush us through an appointment! I wish every business had this kind of customer service. Their fees are so reasonable, even for emergency and extreme conditions. I have sent new pet owners their way on many occasions and have heard only positive responses. The cost of having pets can be overwhelming, especially 3 dogs, but I never worry about going there. They always try to help me stay within a budget. This should be a "Best Business" in Columbia and the surrounding area.

    Pros

Low cost, most friendly staff, immediate appointments, small hometown business feel

    Cons

    NONE!

  • 14. Wonderful Vet

    by: TAHuggardLee

I took my service dog here when I lived in Columbia. They were wonderful about understanding the unique needs of a working dog and helping me with things like weight management (the dog tends to be underweight) and minor injuries that can be devastating for a service dog. I knew I could always get a same day appointment if my dog needed something quickly to keep him working. They were willing to consult with other vets and also willing to admit when they didn't know something, which is a quality I love in a vet. Also, my dog loved them, which is very telling as my dog has shown himself to be an excellent judge of vets. They cost a bit more than the average in the area, but they are worth every penny.

    Pros

Easy to get an appointment, knowledgeable

    Cons

    A bit pricey

  • 15. Dr. Chris Leach

    by: boonecountygirl

i had to put down my 16 year old orange tabby and coordinate with another person to have his remains picked up and buried on the farm of our large animal vet. Dr. Leach was the greatest and most understanding and his commitment to getting my pet to his last resting place was extraordinary. kudos to chris and his staff. they made a very sad experience a bit easier.

    Pros

Dr. Leach and staff are terrific

    Cons

    none

  • 16. excellence

    by: alisa65010

I have had the pleasure of transporting several cats to Peachtree -- usually in trouble and usually on Saturday mornings. I volunteer at our local rescue and several times in the last 2 years, I've had to transport, at the last minute sick, cats to this vet. They have ALWAYS been kind, understanding and helpful. Dr. Leach, in particular, has been awesome. He even taught a class to our group about cat care, urgent vs non urgent problems and the like. Excellent facility, staff and vets!

    Pros

    works well with rescue groups

    Cons

    none

    by: rach1120

The staff at Peach Tree is always helpful and friendly. I don't feel silly asking questions about my cats health that may seem dumb. They also have hours beyond 5:00 pm and I have never had a problem getting one of my kitties in when I needed to. In addition, they are very supportive of the Columbia Second Chance.

  • 23. The Place You Want to Take Your Pets

    by: esaday

I've gone to several vets in my lifetime and PTAH is one of the best. The staff is friendly and helpful. Dr. Chris Leach always makes me feel like he has all the time in the world to spend with me and my dog, Riley. I originally found them when I was searching for a vet to help with Riley's hot spots, which had developed from an unfortunate incident involving fleas and a preventative that didn't work. They were quick to work me in, so that Riley didn't have to suffer anymore. The next time I came in, for Riley's shots, Dr. Leach was quick to ask about it and did a little follow-up exam just to make sure everything was the way it should be. Peach Tree also serves the community in a great way; the animals from Columbia Second Chance rescue organization are treated there, always with great service.

    Pros

Friendly, Personable, Helpful, They Remember You and Care About Your Pet

    Cons

    by: FutureMrsBrewer

I was nervous choosing a vet, but I've never second guessed this decision. Dr. Chris Leach is very good with Riley and I trust his judgement completely. He has even taken frantic calls from me in mid-day asking if I needed to switch my little boy's food. All the staff are friendly and helpful, and I feel like they know Riley fully. Overall, a great decision.

    Pros

great staff from the vets to the assistants

    Cons

I first got to know PTAH through the Spay Neuter and Protect the feral cat program thru Second Chance. They are so generous & accomodating in helping our cause and always gave the best care to the animals. I now take my own fur babies there and would recommend them to everyone. Your babies will be in the best of hands. They are awesome!!

  • 28. First Class All The Way!

    by: JeffReyT

I've only had one experience with PTAH, but it is one I won't soon forget. At the shelter we had the most adorable little Beagle named Snoopy. (I didn't name him.) We put Snoop in for a neutering because we all knew he'd be adopted as quick as anything. Well Snoopy had a bad reaction to the anesthesia. He had moderate to severe problems with coordination for days afterward. It became a more grave concern with each passing day that he had some problems with his kidney and/or liver functions. The decision on whether or not he might have to be euthanized was debated back and forth. Finally, the decision was made that if we could get someone to sponsor the cost of his bloodwork, we could find out for sure what was or was not wrong with him. Now I don't know what a blood panel costs, but PTAH offered to do it at cost ($20). We took the sample to them and anxiously awaited the results. Happy Day! It turned out Snoop just had an infection. A week's worth of antibiotics and some spoiling by yours truly as a foster parent had Snoopy (I call him Maceo) back to his amazing self. The ending to this story has yet to be fully written, but I am overjoyed to report Snoopy went to his forever home just two days ago. A woman brought in her children, and her son and Snoopy were best friends in seconds. And the final kicker....PTAH never sent us a bill. I would enthusiastically recommend Peach Tree Animal Hospital to anyone who wants their pet in fgood, caring hands.

    Pros

    Friendly and accomodating staff

    Cons

A little out of the way from where I live now.
