  • 1. North Florida Animal Hospital - THE BEST!

    by: rebelady

When our dog, Tucker, was diagnosed with AIHA (auto immune hemolytic anemia) the staff and vets at North Florida Animal Hospital provided the most caring and professional care I have ever witnessed.\r\nDr. Hagood took time to talk to us, always answered our phone calls and is doing all he can to get tucker through the crisis, althought he prognosis for his type of AIHA is very poor. Even though tucker has been prodded and poked, blood draws every other day, he still wags his tail and gives Dr. Hagood a kiss. This is the first time Tucker has not cringed in fear at seeing the vet. THANK YOU NORTH FLORIDA ANIMAL HOSPITAL!\r\n

North Florida has been through some of mu saddest times with me with my animals. They have saved some and stood and cried with me when we lost. When my dog got bit by a poisonous snake they did everthing they could, and were wonderful with my family they let us come by everyday she was there to visit. She was there for a couple of weeks before she was well enough to come home. They saved her life and we will always be thank ful.

    Pros

    Vets are wonderful.

    Cons

    Prices are a bit expensive.

  • 3. Good groomer

My friend brings her three dogs to get groomed here. The staff is nicer, the prices are equal to or less than other places, and they get to know her dogs.

  • 5. They Helped my Little Bennett!

    by: tallytownkitty

My husband and I were out of town when our pet sitter called and said our little spaniel mix, Bennett, was not well. Our sitter, Faith of Critter Sitters Express, took Bennett to a nearby vet who diagnosed Bennett's problem but did not have the equipment necessary to help. They took little Ben to NFAH where his spleen was removed. Great job and great folks there. They saved little Bennett's life and I am so grateful to them!

    Pros

    Great Surgical Suite

    Cons

For me - a bit of a drive!

  • 6. Great Vet Office

    by: DrKerry

I love this vet office, there are a ton of vets on staff to help resolve complex issues....like my cats IBD! :) I also like how personable they are, when you pick up your pet you get a one on one with the vet who saw your pet that day, pretty great! Love it!

    Pros

    Lots of vets on staff

    Cons

    busy on saturdays

  • 7. home away from home

    by: leslanham

When we have to go out of town and need to board our animals, we do not hesitate to take them here. They will accomadate our pets special needs and foods. They give them the love and care they expect and get at home. Our dogs do not hesitate to go with the care takers.

    great staff, friendly, animal lovers

    Cons

cannot be picked up on a sunday

  • 9. Great vet

    by: kittynole

I bring my cat and my kitten to NFAH. I have had good experiences most every time. The girls at the front desk are friendly, I don't need to make an appointment to see a vet, and the vets always act like they really care about my pets' health. Dr. Paxton is especially great; he never spends less than 10 minutes talking to me and working on my cats' problems, even over the phone.

    Pros

    Caring vets

    Cons

  • 10. Great vet!

    by: lcworsham

This hospital gives you and your pet special care and attention, and they actually listen to what you think is best for your pet. Plus, in extreme cases, they actually do house calls! Doesn't get any better than that. Top of the line technology and facility and vets! Great, great, great!!!

    Pros

Great staff and vets, great facility

    Cons

    lots of customers!

  • 11. Walk in vet clinic

    by: cmdemeo

We have brought some of our fosters here for their spay and neuter surgeries and for medical care. The office staff is pleasant and are attentive to the animals. The offices are clean and they are quick and efficient. They are open later than most vets making pick up easier and they have walkin appointments available. It can be very busy here and sometimes you can get lost in the shuffle if you are there for routine care. It can also be expensive for routine care.

    Pros

They have walkin appointments and are fast and efficient

    Cons

    expensive

  • 12. state of the art facilities

    by: tkw04

NFAH is great - I love that they don't require appointments, so I am able to bring my dog in whenever it's convenient for me. The staff is so kind and knowledgable; they have helped me get my dog through 2 major illnesses. i highly recommend them.

    Pros

great location, excellent care, compassionate staff

    Cons

    expensive

  • 13. Kodiak

    by: WackyJackie

One of our older Australian Shepherds, Kodiak, was diagnosed with a cancerous tumor in his right sinus cavity. Not only were the vets totally competent in their diagnosis, but they bent over backwards to try to help our beloved dog. However, surgery was not an option and radiation only had a 50/50 chance of helping so we decided to make Kodiak comfortable for his remaining time with us (he was 13 years old). On October 15, it was apparent that Kodiak's condition was deteriorating so I called Dr. Justice who agreed to come to our house to euthanize our beloved Kodiak. She was absolutely wonderful and really helped give us the peace we needed at such a difficult time. Kodiak was totally relaxed with her and knew we loved him dearly up to his last minute with us. This hospital has a great staff of caring vets and technicians - we will continue to enjoy their services with our remaining three Aussies.

    Pros

    Cutting edge technology

    Cons

    Do not schedule appointments

  • 14. Friendly Staff!

  • 16. N. Fla. vets set the standard

    by: drjdiver

I am very pleased with North Florida. Drs. Randy Fullerton, Billy Richardson and Lynn Hagood are outstanding; very patient with my many questions, and provided excellent, easily understood explanations. While they are probably the most expensive vets in town, they have the latest medical equipment and technology, which I feel justifies the expense.

    Pros

    Knowledgeable vets; latest medical equipment

    Cons

Expensive - but well worth it

  • 17. I don't go anywhere else!

    by: bgenie

These guys are a bit expensive and the other side of town from where I live now, but I love the vets and the care that my animals receive from N. Fla Animal. The vets are wonderful about educating pet owners and helping them to always make the right decision.

    Pros

    Everything!!!

    Cons

    Expensive

  • 18. These Vets Volunteer at the Animal Service Center

    by: binky

These vets are great! Dr. Paxton volunteers in the surgery at the Animal Service Center. He helps by doing spay and neuter surgeries on animals before they are adopted. Dr. Haygood sits on our Advisory Board. Dr. Simmons has donated his time and expertise by doing orthopedic surgery on a puppy that was in danger of losing his leg. (Dr. Simmons didn't charge us a thing for a surgery that would have cost $1000!)

    Pros

Volunteer with the Animal Service Center

    Cons

    none

  • 19. Great Specialty Veterinary Hopsital

    by: Sherrie

This is the number one specialty veterinary hospital in Tallahassee. If they don't do the procedure/surgery that your pet needs, chances are nobody else in Tallahassee does either. Their prices are extremely high. They have a great reputation though. If you are just needing routine check-up, shots, etc for you pet, I suggest a cheaper clinic. Save this clinic for when you really need them to do something for your pet that nobody else nearby can. You wallet will thank you!

    Pros

    Great for specialty procedures/surgeries

    Cons

    $Expensive$
