I have taken my pets to Dr. Howard Nelson since I was a kid. In all those years, he has never been anything but kind, symathetic, and skilled. When he walks into the room, the animals sense that he will help them. They seem to relax and be reassured. \r\n\r\nA few years ago, our Collie developed a blood disease. Dr. Nelson did everything he could to save her. We talked on the phone daily, usually with him saying,"Well, Emma dodged another bullet today," or "Our girl didn't do very will last night." When the time finally came to let our lovely Emma go, our last phone conversation ended with both of us crying. \r\n\r\nDr. Nelson would have made a wonderful PEOPLE doctor, but we - and our pets - are grateful that he chose veterinary medicine. Inevitably, he'll decide to retire one day. That will be a sad day, indeed.
