    by: darlenemarie

I recently had to put down my 15 year old poodle. Such a sad day for me, but the way they treated me and my very sick dog, was so nice. They really know how special our animals are to us and were so kind and considerate. This is how it should be done everyplace!

    Pros

    emergency care

    Cons

    cost

  • 2. Sympathy card

    by: luckyjack6

Yesterday was a very sad day. Our cat, Samantha, suddenly fell ill and could not be saved. Met Vet West handled the case with extreme care and sympathy. I paid and left with a very heavy heart. Today, a final very nice touch, a personal sympathy card was in the mail from Met Vet West. It will not be thrown away. Thank you Met Vet West.

    Pros

Very caring toward myself and Samantha

    Cons

    none

  • 3. I recommend them highly for emergencies

    by: LaurenS

I took my Buddy Kat to the Met Vest West clinic in Robinson two weeks ago. My cat's vet was usually Bethel Park Cat Clinic, but he needed emergency care so I took him there and they got me right in.\r\nYou would think that with such a sudden and tragic loss of my cat that I would have bad feelings towards Met Vet, but I was super super impressed with them.\r\nI called them about Buddy's condition, and even though they were busy, they got me right in. They diagnosed him quickly (x rays and bloodwork). The vet gave me the results, rapid lymphoma with no chance of survival (unless he had a feeding tube, and with that only two weeks maximum to live). I became completely hysterical in the office, and all of the staff was soooo supportive of me. I decided that euthanization was the only humane option... he was suffering terribly. They let me spend an hour with Buddy Kat and waited for a friend to get there to be with us. I can't say enough about the kindness of the staff when I was in a time of utter despair. They sent me a sympathy card promptly. \r\nI was so impressed with the vet's honesty and competence and the speed of service. I also appreciated the supportive staff, who gave me a baggy with some of Buddy's shaved fur to remember him.\r\nI have a lot of confidence in Met Vet West, based on that experience and I recommend them highly.

    Pros

Lots (read below).... plus they sent me a sympathy card in the mail

    Cons

one trip totaled $350, for x ray, bloodwork, and euthanasia.... so a bit expensive

My dog suffers from cushings disease. She is on medication, but had a reaction to her meds. It was over the weekend and I was unable to get a hold of our regular vet. We called Met Vet and they told us to come right in. The staff was courtious and knowledgeable. They took very good care of my dog. They even double checked some of her signs just to be sure. While we were there, they had two other emergencies come in--one dog was hit by a car. The girls were right there to take the dog in and reassure the owners. I watched how they handled all of the people and pets coming and going and was impressed. Needless to say, I took several of their cards to give to family with pets just in case an emergency arises. I would not hesitate to use them again if needed. The staff is great. A special thank you to all of the staff at Met Vet at Robinson!

    Pros

Open when you really need them

    Cons

    distance from home

    by: DorothyMusmanno

I switched vets about two years ago. I have been extremely satisfied with the change. The staff is very courteous and the doctors are very patient and understanding. They take the time to put my dog at ease and are willing to answer all of my questions. They do not rush you through the appointment. They are also very knowledgeable. As this is an emergency care facility , it is sometimes necessary to wait a little longer for an appointment but it is well worth it and rescheduling is not a problem if you can't wait. I am so glad I switched and so is my dog Belle.

    Pros

Met Vet front office staff is very freindly and accomodating. The vets are kind, warm and engaging as well as knowledgable and patient.

    Cons

My dog seems to be a bit accident prone. While chasing a squirrell he managed to rip out his name. I called Met Vet and they were able to fit us in quickly. Anytime I have had a question or concern they have been extremely helpful

    Pros

    great hours, helpful and friendly

    Cons

don't have anything bad to say.

I took my dog who was very sick and not able to walk. We called before we left for the clinic. It was a saturday, and when we arrived carrying out 90 lb basset, a small young woman ran out to meet us and took him from our arms. In less then 20 minutes they called us in and told us about our dog.\r\nWe left him there were he was comfortable at the time. He died before we could get back. The staff was caring and thoughtful to us. They even sent us a sympathy card. We have taken our pets there many times on nights and weekend and are very happy with the care.

    Pros

    close, caring, and fast

    Cons

different vets each time we went

  • 8. great place

    Pros

    excellent service

    Cons

  • 9. Very clean and accommodating

    by: klh6977

This vet is like a hospital. Partly due to the 24 hour emergency clinic. I have a hyper, slightly psychotic miniature pinscher who is not good with scales or shots. The vets and techs are always accommodating to her. They explain everything and never force you to get unnecessary products or procedures.

    Pros

    Great hours, clean, knowledgeable staff

    Cons

My dog knows the smell and she tries to escape the whole time

  • 10. Wonderful Staff!!! Great Care!!!

    by: auntadaira

I recently had to take a stray in for care because she was hit by a car. They were nothing but nice. They did everything they could to save this dog, but in the end were humane and recommended letting her go. They called in an orthopedic specialist and didn't charge me for it. They didn't charge me an arm and a leg for her treated, but did everything they could. I will recommend this place to anyone who asks. Thank you Thank you Thank you for trying to save that sweet dog.

    Pros

I can't say enough good about this place.

    Cons

    Nothing.

  • 11. Good Place - Depending on the Vet you Get

    by: mjp532

Note: Met Vet is no longer open 24 hrs. They close at midnight on most nights and open early morning.\r\n\r\nHave been to Met Vet 3 times for after hours visits with friends/family who have had sick pets. During my first visit we saw one doctor who was very knowledgable and very nice...\r\n \r\nOn the second and third visits, we saw another Doctor who - to my suprise - was somewhat sarcastic and condescending - on both visits! Now I am willing to overlook a bad mood on one occasion, but not after two visits, with the same experience on each visit! I was shocked at her outwardly sarcastic tone, especially during my most recent visit. In fact, it wasn't until I got a little spicy back to her that she backed off a bit and got down to business...Before this experience, I had been considering taking my own pets there for regular visits because the place seems state of the art and the support staff is amazing - but I have changed my mind because I don't think you reward poor behavior with giving someone good business. \r\nIn cases of emergencies with my own pets, I'd only go there only if I knew this vet was not on duty - otherwise it's VCA.

    Pros

    Great, Super-Nice Staff and Facility

    Cons

Experience Varies Greatly Depending on Vet You See

These people saved my cat's life. Not only that, the made financing easy. There is another emergency clinic within 5 miles of my home, they couldn't/wouldn't discuss financing - I would have had to have my 3 year old cat put down if I hadn't found Met Vet. I love them!\r\n

    Pros

    Very helpful and compassionate

    Cons

    none

This place has the best care ever. They are very knowledgeable and are available for emergencies 24/7. I don't know a better place to go for your pets health needs.\r\nThe only downside is that they are very expensive. I guess you get what you pay for!
