I've been using McKillip for about 15 years now. They're a friendly neighborhood vet that offers an array of services (vet, boarding, food sales, maybe even grooming). \r\n\r\nWhat sets McKillip apart from most vets is that they offer walk-in service. For routine veterinary care, they don't take appointments. The upside--you can always get in to see the vet, even if you have to wait a while. As they say at McKillip--animals don't get sick on appointment. The downside--during rush periods (after work, weekends, etc.), the wait can sometimes be close to an hour. McKillip does validate for 1 hour of free parking at Century Mall, which makes things a bit easier.\r\n\r\nMost of McKillips vets are general practitioners. They're good at what they do, but if an animal has a unusual need or problem, they'll refer you to a specialist and work with that vet to coordinate treatment. I had a cat with cancer whose treatment was supervised by a vet in Skokie, but carried out by the staff at McKillip. \r\n\r\nMcKillip's staff is friendly, knowledgeable and outgoing. I'm always greated warmly when I come in for an appointment, and they genuinely seem to like working with animals.
