    by: marinam

First of all it is bordering on suspicous that you cannot view the rooms the dogs are kept in. They claim it is a liability issue yet I know of other places that will show you everything. I didn't believe it was a liability issue for one minute. My dog was very very aggitated when he came out and whimpered for a half hour straight and they claimed he was well behaved and gave them no problems!! He went to the bathroom a lot immediately as if he was holding it. The dog smelled funny too. Overall it was a strange experience and I didnt' like it and won't use them again. Staff are stiff and seem rehearsed and a bit phony. They are really up there in no where's land also. Unless you are very local this is far.

    Pros

Clean and pretty from what you can see of it

    Cons

Can't view rooms. Dog very very aggitated

We've used Marta's a couple of times over the past to board Cassie while we were on vacation. She's always happy to arrive at Marta's and I know I don't have to worry about her while she's there.\r\n\r\nWhen we got Cassie (our first and so far only dog)we used WAGS in Danbury for both occasional daycare and overnight boarding. After one trip, we were told she was no longer welcome because she "didn't know proper dog play" and was too unruly. Apparently a no cage environment is not the right situation for all dogs. Marta's was the right answer for us. She's not kept in a small crate all day but in a larger cage with room to move around and interact with people while being separate from other dogs.

    Pros

    Clean place, friendly staff

    Cons

    I can't think of any

Thanks, Marta's Vineyard, for supporting DAWS throughout the years.\r\n\r\nI have not used this service personally but others have had a positive experience.

  • 7. Prefer Wags in Danbury

    by: smproia

I used to take my dogs here until I found out about Wags. Marta's keeps all dogs in kennels like a shelter, which can be stressful on the dogs. I love how Wags is kennel free (unless you request to have your dog crated at night, which is available) and the dogs get to play all day with their buddies- human and dog.

    Pros

    close by

    Cons

    in kennels with little interaction
