  • 1. A great place to find a forever friend

    by: tondafoxNH

I adopted my cat Florence in july of 2002 from here, she is now known as Flo Monster-she is very dominating. I didnt like the name Florence so I came up with Floey. I absolutely am glad I got her there-if you read in my journals, I wrote about the day I picked her out-the people are great-they let you sit with the animal, they dont rush you or bug you. I never did make it to the second cat room, Florence picked me. If I was still in manchester, I would definately adopt an animal here again.

    Pros

Lots of staff to help answer Qs

    Cons

if you rent, they have to call your landlord

  • 2. I have only been there once

I went to this shelter one day looking for a dog and they only had one, but he had a really bad skin infection so he wasn't up for adoption. The woman behind the counter was nice though and it was really clean (from what I saw)!!

I only vaguely remember the shelter; I got my first cat there a longgg time ago, but he is still pretty lively, so he must have had a good start :) From the photo, they apparently also got some renevations since the last time I saw them, and look great!

  • 5. Nice Shelter, Friendly Staff

I have adopted 2 of my ferrets from FMAS. The staff was very friendly and helpful both times. They don't usually get ferrets very often so they aren't very knowledgeable about them but the are learning. The last ferret we adopted needed to get his rabies shot, so they let us pick him up on a day when the shelter was closed for adoptions. That way we didn't have to wait longer to bring him home. That was super nice of them and we really appreciated it. The staff is EXCELLENT!!!

    Pros

Friendly and helpful staff, care about the animals

    Cons

    Could use more room
