  • 1. Quality Care

    by: Tina83

Dear DR Carver and staff, Words cannot express my gratitude for the kindness & care that you gave to me and my dog Maggie. I get completely welled up when I think of what you did in our time of need to save her and ensure that she was well. I wish there was something I could do to reciprocate your thoughtful gift of the best quality care. I could only hope that all of my loved ones would be cared for like that in their time of need. Once again God bless your generous, kind, and gentle spirit.

They took such good care of our Honey. From the moment we found out her diagnosis the surgical department calmed our fears, explained our options, but most of all treated Honey with the best care and love. We will be forever grateful.

My dog Gretchen was brought to this hospital for emergency surgery in September and she is recovering very well. We are grateful for the expertise and all the caring hearts because she is still with us and happy she is still a member of our loving family. Kathy J.

Dear Dr Marino and the wonderful surgical staff at LIVS, I am very grateful to each and every staff member who took care of my boy, Rusty, while he was recovering from back surgery. We love you Dr Marino! Thanks also for all your patience, kindness, compassionate care and guidance. You are truly a gift from God and I am so lucky and blessed to have you to operate on my boy. I know he gets exceptional care. I can never say thank you enough times. You are a very special man and Dr. Fondly and gratefully, Cheryl and Rusty

  • 5. Great Docs, Less Great Service

    by: MarcyD

There are many gifted doctors and staff at LIVS but going there can be a hellish experience. An hour plus wait to see a doctor is not unusual - even to just pick up an animal. Doctors and staff are inflexible about accommodating clients' schedules even by a few minutes. There is always an excuse - overbooking, emergencies, etc. but in the many years I have been taking animals there it has never changed. This is a place that seriously needs a management overhaul. I have been to other top notch veterinary facilities but never consistently experienced the inconvenience and inflexibility I have here. It's a shame because there are gifted doctors and wonderful staff here. Given the choice though, if I could get comparable medical care I would go elsewhere.

    Pros

    Mostly good doctors and staff

    Cons

    Hideously managed practice

  • 7. I believe they saved my dog :)

    by: hopelessdawn

My foster dog from the shelter was very sick, first vet thought he was blind, deaf and had some horrible infection or something causing seizures. LIV'S did some extensive and "expensive" testing and found he was only partially blind in ONE eye and could hear fine. His issues were probably brought on by breeding (He is a malti-poo) people trying to breed designer dogs. He was put on medication and is doing great now. We adopted him and it's been months since he has had any seizures. I would highly recommend this animal hospital to anyone who needs to see a "special vet".

    Pros

They seem to really have a lot of knowledge!

    Cons

    Expensive, long wait

  • 8. They Saved Our Viagra Wonder Dog

    by: aussiejodi

I've never had to use them for my own dogs, but LIVS has treated many Little Shelter animals. Recently they saved the life of our Viagra Wonder Dog - Ingrid. Ingrid came to us in the final stages of heart worm and decongestive heart failure. She almost died several times. Dr Govier suggested Viagra as part of her treatment, as this was originally a heart medication - believe it or not. Well it worked and today Ingrid is doing wonderfully. At her most recent checkup at LIVS Ingrid got a good bill of health and is able to cut back on her meds. By the way, she is still looking for a home. Check her out at www.littleshelter.com.

Unfortunately I have needed this place on a number of occasions, which means my animals had serious medical problems. Honestly they saved their lives and got them to the point that they could be transferred to my regular vet. The services were priceless!
