  • 1. Great selection of dogs to adopt

    by: jadamax

We have adopted 3 dogs from this shelter. Diedra who runs the shelter is friendly, knowledgeable and kind. Each time we have visited we have been amazed at the dogs for adoption. This shelter has quite a few pure breed dogs. We have a second home in Lake Isabella which is how we became acquainted with the facility. Our last dog was a pit mix and it was the greatest dog ever so we didn't have anything special in mind when we were looking to adopt. When we walked into Lake Isabella Shelter for the first time we spoke with Kim. She helped us pick out a great Germain Short Haired Pointer. We named him "Jak". A couple of months later we returned to get "Jak" a buddy. We fell in love with a pure breed Border Collie named "Gypsy" and her daughter "Princess". They are all wonderful dogs and we don't know who is more blessed them or us. I can't give this shelter high enough ratings.

  • 2. Small town shelter

    by: Crystal760

I think any place that opens it's arms to an animal in need is a great place.\r\nthey help animals so they can get back to their lovable selfs again while looking for a caring home for them.\r\nThe shelter is a bit small, but we also live in a small town with not many funds. but despite the small shelter the volunteers there have big hearts. and they are doing the best they can to make a difference.

    Pros

They are very good to the animals.

    Cons

The shelter is a bit small.
