  • 4. GREAT PARK!

    by: doglover1974

I have been there once or twice with my mom. Also when I had my sissy and lived in Lemay not far from Jefferson Barracks we would take her there and let her play while the kids were playing. \r\n\r\nWhen I was a little girl my mom would dog sit for my grandpa and we would take Tony (his poodle) to the park so he could go and get a bit of fresh air and me and Tony would run around like crazy. My mom has pictures of that and I will get those. I was maybe 10 to 12 yrs old when we took Tony there. \r\n\r\nI grew up by Jefferson Barracks and that park has expanded over the years. This is a great park to go to whether walking a dog or taking kids there to play!

    Pros

Great place to go! Not over crowded either.

I like going to this park a lot. There is enough room here to have a family picnic and to brings animals off leash. It is not a very busy Park however gets enough attention during the weekends which makes the roads a bit busy to travel on with your pet.

This is a great park to go to for a walk. They have a paved walking trail and roads that meander through the park. If you don't want to walk around a lot of people there is plenty of space. It is a nice old shaded park.

    Pros

    Plenty of space

  • 8. Great Historical Park

    by: DaisyBuddysmom

When I lived close to this park I would take my doberman, Sunni, there. Before I started taking her to the park I could not get her in the car. We used a crate to train her and the door was always open. If she knew we were getting ready to leave she would go in that crate and you could not get her to come out. I started taking her to the park. The first couple of times she did not know what to think. All this big yard for her to play in and all those people. Most of the time we would go early in the morning when there was not a lot of people. There are a lot of different places you to walk. If it is summertime when the heat is bad there are plenty of trees for shade. They have water fountains and restrooms. \r\n\r\nYou can stop by the stables and see the horses they board or get a history lesson about the civil war. This park was an active military base during and after the civil war. It is where General Grant, later to become president Grant, was stationed when he met and married his wife.

    Pros

    Beautiful park

    Cons

Can't let the dog off the leash
