It cost $100 dollars to adopt a dog. You are forced, and I do mean given no other option, to have the animal taken to vet Actually, they do it for you. The fee gets you nothing, no low cost spay/neuter, no first shots, nothing. That amounts to $250 in three days.
Their financial records can not be found. Their newsletter has not been updated in 9 months. You would be better of getting a dog off the street. At least that way you could afford to feed it.
They need to adjust their practices in line with other shelters in the area and provide a complete disclosure of all monies as required for non-for-profit organization.
It's not the animals fault, but this organization does not yet deserve the support of the people of Southern Illinois.
