Why would they give away our dog? Our application was pending/dog was on hold and no one can explain why she is no longer available. Is money changing hands at the side door?

    Pros

    Staff is Incompetant

    Cons

Record all your conversations or you'll be sorry, Beware!

    by: mfuhrman1

The Humane Society of Lebanon County is a wonderful place for displaced animals. Recently my 86 year old aunt wanted a dog. I found her "Gigi". The staff was wonderful to my aunt during the adoption. However, the building is in desperate need of a makeover. It's an older building with an older heating and air conditioning system. This wonderful staff really needs a building makeover to make their selfless tasks at the humane society easier. As for our points so far, you can tell that there isn't a whole lot of support from the community of Lebanon. There are a select dedicated few that keep the shelter running.

    Pros

The staff is wonderful and very helpful

    Cons

The building is an older building

When my cat, Annie went to Rainbow Bridge in the late 90's, we went to the shelter to adopt a new feline and fell in love with Penny, a beautiful gray and white long-haired cat that just happened to be 6 years old. Penny has journeyed to the Bridge but we've been back several times with strays. The staff is so helpful. The need is great for more volunteers and added space and I urge everyone to help by visiting the thrift shop, donating there, buying at the sales and volunteering at the shelter.

    Pros

    These are patient dedicated people

    Cons

Because of the lack of space, it's not a no-kill shelter

Everytime I have been in there it is always clean and everyone is very nice and knowledgeable. I know numerous people that have adopted from them and say the same. They could always use more help and if anyone lives in the area they should really stop by and see about volunteering or adopting.

    Pros

    Wonderful Shelter

    Cons

    need more help
