I took my puppy in to be spayed and was told by the very rude front desk assistant that suture removal was going to be another charge. I spent close to $300 on her surgery and they wanted me to pay to remove her suture! The women at the front desk are rude and incompetent when dealing with the public. It's a shame because they will be losing a lot of potential clients through my recommendation. It is not worth being treated badly. Take your business elsewhere.

  • 2. Don't complain or else you’ll get terminated.

    by: jmkeats

After being overcharged $42 for my two Shorkies’ Frontline and Sentinel meds, I asked the staff if I could have my debit card refunded. The staff told me they didn't have the authorization code to refund my card, but that the vet had the authorization code, and that my card would be refunded the $42 later that day. When I called the following day to inquire as to why my card had not been refunded the $42, the staff told me that I would instead be given, an "in store" credit for $42. When I told the staff, I did not want an "in store" credit, but preferred to have my card refunded; the conversation that followed can only be described as confrontational at best. The staff argued with me, "it's only $42", and rather than accommodate my refund request quickly, the staff retorted that they could now only mail me a check for $42. It seems that a day later, the staff "didn't feel comfortable" with my debit card information being provided over the phone. I'll assume Lockwillow's customer service department, or lack thereof, has fired clients before, since the day after I complained, I received a "Client Firing" letter via certified mail stating, "we [Lockwillow] are terminating your services with us, effective immediately…so that you may arrange for veterinary services elsewhere." Moving forward, if you’re considering Lockwillow Avenue Animal Clinic in Harrisburg, PA for your veterinary services, just remember don’t complain, or you too will be shopping around for a new vet - preferably, a vet with a customer service department that genuinely wants to help you, rather than argue with you.

good at terminating clients that complain of overcharging

  • 4. A Vet who Cares!

    by: SandiSites

I took my first cat to Mark's Dad before Mark took over the business. Dr. Guise has cared for all of my pets, several cats and two dogs over the last 25+ years and has been caring and compassionate (to me and the pets) from first shots and neutering through the sadness of their last days. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

    Caring, knowledgeable, compassionate

The staff at the Lockwillow animal clinic are friendly and helpful. They all clearly love animals and it shows in their work. Dr. Mark spends the time needed to explain what is going on with your pet in a clear and understandable manner. The clinic itself is a lovely small building with a beautiful waiting room. Prices are reasonable. I highly recommend the Lockwillow clinic to anyone.

great staff, clean and beautiful building

does not treat small exotic pets.
