    by: noots26

I took my dog there 2/18/2011 he fell and was bleeding. After I rang the bell 3 times a vet tech answered the door rubbed crust out of her eyes and looked at him for 10 minutes gave me some pills and a 200$ bill. 3 hours later when he wouldnt stop bleeding I called they were gone so I rushed him to downers grove which saved his life. The doctor apparently didnt notice he needed stitches so he kept bleeding and since they didnt provide a bandage or a cone he bleed all over. Even the vet at downers couldnt believe they didnt provide a cone. Anyway he became anemic due to blood loss and almost died. Downers saved his life and lisle almost took it. You want my advice drive the couple extra blocks and go to downers, naperville or aurora it will save you time, money and your animals life.

We found ourselves here once with our little yorkie. It was quite awhile ago and I believe she was having a bad reaction to some shots she had received earlier in the day. All I can say is I remember they were beyond kind and helpful. Took wonderful care of our girl and she is still with us today at 11 years old.

    Pros

    Always available

    Cons

    Abit pricey

Our first vistit to this facility was a very scary day. We thought that our cat was going to have to be put down. We were all so upset that the whole family went. The vet on duty was just great. He quickly diagnosed Bob, gave him a shot , sent us on our way telling us that he would be better in a few days. Guess what? He was. We really thought that he was on his death bed. Our second trip was to put down our 15 yr old friend. That was a sad sad night. We are grateful that there is an emergency vet out there to help when you need it.

    Pros

THey were there when we needed them

    Cons

    Had to drive a distance

we had to bring one of our departed cats there a few years ago when she was pretty near the clearing at the end of the path... they did everything they could (not to mention being there at 2:00am) and kept her for observation. I think we actually were transporting her between our vet in the day to here at night. Tough times but they helped her be more comfortable. We miss you abby... thanks guys!

Emergency Veterinary Service literally saved one of our cats' lives when he was very young. He had a urinary blockage due to crystals and had to have a catheter put in. He went between Emergency Veterinary Service and our normal vet for 3 days so he could have 24-hour care. He has been on Hills' c/d or w/d for the last 6 years and never had a problem again.

    Pros

Emergency service when regular vet is closed

    Cons

Expensive, but the care has been worth it
