I have been to this park before, and I thought it was a very nice place for a dog. It was clean and other dogs were there, interacting with eachother. Overall, this is a very nice place to take a dog.

    great for all dogs

    Cons

    almost none

  • 4. A better place couldn't go to the dogs

Ok, so I've taken my dog Frodo to the dog park and I have to applaud the city of Durango for allotting such a great piece of land for this a use. The dog park is very large with steep hills rising to the south for climbing, and the Animas river to the north for water play, and in between is a wide stretch of flat area for running. The city provides a box with poop bags for people to clean up after their dogs and the area is never littered. The only complaint I have is there is no parking area anywhere nearby except the park across the river and the only access is facing a very busy Highway with no walk way protection. Other than that the Durango Dog Park is a great place to take your dog and yourself.

    Pros

Along the Animas River, diverse terrain, lots of room.
