I've only been here a few times and just to brows. The staffed seemed friendly though I didnt really get a chance to talk to any of them. The place is huge and has plenty of room for any thing they take in. I especially like that they have a barn.

    not quick to greet

  • 2. Beautiful Facility

I attended a conference here before, and I was blown away by the facility. The staff was all courteous and friendly, and we were offered tours. It was nice to see how a different shelter was set up, and I really liked the looks of the place. The animals seemed all well cared for and happy. I only wish I had more experience there to give a more complete review, but I liked what I saw!

    beautiful, spacious facility

My fiance adopted a dog from here in December, and the staff was great. They were very helpful and friendly. \r\n\r\nHowever, this shelter tends to euthanize a lot of cats. Several months ago, a report surfaced that they were putting down a lot of healthy cats, even though they still had empty cages. I don't have all the details, but I found this very disturbing.\r\n\r\nMy personal experience was fine, but I really HATE senseless euthanasia. That is why I split my review down the middle.

    Friendly, knowledgable staff

    Too many feline euthanasias

  • 4. Great shelter!!

I just adopted a rabbit from Dane County Humane Society, and I couldn't be happier!! She was adopted as a girlfriend for my current rabbit, and the staff was very knowledgeable and helpful in finding an appropriate girl for my picky boy rabbit and setting up "bunny dates" for the two. They took good care of her, gave me good information in my adoption folder, and the adoption fee was more than reasonable. Office staff was very helpful, if a little overwhelmed by the number of visitors, both in person and on the phone. The satellite adoption centers in Mounds stores are also great ways to see adoptable animals outside of regular hours. A place that takes care of animals well and is good at getting them adopted!

Clean, nice facility, helpful staff that knows their stuff!

Very busy on a Sunday afternoon
