  • 1. Good Service

    by: gunnerandsophia

I started out at Dr. Martin's but had to switch because he's only part time and my animals always manage to get into something bad. I love the staff there, especially the tech Stacie, she's always very helpful and you can tell she loves her job. They never have any trouble getting us in and we never have to wait. I've been seeing her new vet, Dr. Evert (think that's how you spell it) and love her too.

    Pros

Always an open slot for me to get my babies in!

    Cons

Kitty pee smell and stains on the carpet when you walk in.

  • 2. Dr. Thea and staff are great with animals and family

    by: kluckingbear

Our regular family vet is Ron Martin, but we've seen Dr. Thea for some emergency visits and for our dog, Daisy, who is just too big for Dr. Martin. We were very pleased with the service and would gladly use her as our family vet if we didn't already have one. She saved our Golden's life one time and put up with her barking non-stop in her clinic for a week!

    Pros

Low costs, knowledgeable and friendly staff.

    Cons

Not able to euthanize at facility

  • 3. Excellent vet care

    by: ann14989

Dr. Thea has seen all of our animals, but she brought my Freddie out of a really bad spell, mindful of the fact that he was 15 at the time. Great for routine care, and very kind and compassionate when an emergency comes up.

    Pros

    Heart of gold

  • 4. Friendly Staff

    by: Reyawick

We have taken all of our animals there since we have lived in Ellensburg. We have a habit of adopting animals to only find out they have some weird health problem. Even if the two vets there don't know what it is they try their hardest to figure it out. We are still working on Micah's weird ear problem.\n\nThe staff there is really helpful and extremely nice.\n\nLet me call on the weekend to check on statis of my pets after a spay/neuter.\n

    Pros

Great Staff, work hard, friendly, helpful, somewhat inexpensive

    Cons

    Nothing really...

  • 5. Wonderful Clinic

    by: tiggersmommy

I've taken my dog here since she was a puppy, and I would not take her any other place. Tigger is treated as if she was one of their family.\n\nI would recommend this Clinic to everyone.

    by: Eburgcats

We have been taking our cats to critter care for the past year and a half. We like the staff, feel that the care is excellent and appreciate the fact that they are easy to reach (enough staff that you can always get through to someone when you call.)

    Pros

    Friendly, flexibile, reasonably priced

    Cons

  • 8. Dr Thea McFadden is super

    by: aglaya

I've known Dr McFadden and used her services prior to her establishing her own clinic. Although I am not currently a customer at Critter Care, I would have no concerns about the care my animals would receive from her. She saved our Griffey dog when he was accidentially poisoned.

    Pros

    knowledgeable and caring

    Cons

  • 9. Excellent care

    by: stroker

Our dog was not feeling well. We were not sure what was wrong with him. We took him to Critter Care. They explained things and told us he needed a blood test to make sure what was wrong. He had the test and was dehydrated. They kept Zack overnight. I was not sure about leaving him over night, he is part of our family and has never been away from us. They reassured us that he would be fine. The next day we got a call and they told us that they wanted to monitor him for the rest of the day. Later that afternoon they called and told us that we could come and pick up Zack since he was doing much better and continued to bark at them when they came into the room. They will definately be our all time Vet. Thanks for all your help.

    Pros

I love this vet. They were tons of help with our dog.

  • 10. Wonderful Experience

    by: bluetuberosa

I've had many so-so experiences with other vets in the county, but my recent experience with Critter Care made me a loyal client.\r\n\r\nI was terrified when my young dog suddenly became lethargic and ill. I wasn't sure what to do, but I had heard wonderful things about Dr. McFadden from my friends, so I called and they got us in right away.\r\n\r\nI turned out that my dog was severly dehydrated and had a dangerously high temp. Dr. McFadden carefully explained the situation to me and with my permission took immeadiate action. I had to leave my dog overnight, but they called and gave me thourough updates in the evening and again in the morning.\r\n\r\nWith Critter Care's help, my dog recovered from a scary close call and I will be a loyal client for life! \r\n

    Pros

    Caring and Knowledgeable

  • 11. A good place to bring your ailing animal

    by: damarpi

\nThea McFadden's calm, compassionate, and competent manner in difficult situations is comforting and reassuring both to animals and their owners. She has treated four of my pets now and is the only vet who doesn't set them all ashiver. When my beloved old shih-tzu and (a year later) my terrier-poodle mix were so old and sick that I had to have them put down, she was a real source of strength to me; and the procedure was so fast and gentle that they simply went to sleep in my arms, without fear or pain. She clearly loves animals and is well trained to care for them.

    Pros

Compassionate, knowledgeable, a great bedside manner

    Cons

  • 13. This Animal Hospital is Wonderful

    by: gramaloha

When I moved to Ellensburg in October 2007, I adopted a Puppy & needed to have a Vet.\r\n I Chose Dr. Thea Mcfadden at Critter Care Based Purely on the Fact that she Charged ALOT LESS for Spaying & Rabies Shots then the 1st two Vets I Called. \r\n My little Sheltie/Corgi "Shelby" also needed 2 Baby teeth removed at the time of her spaying (that we were not aware of ) Until the Dr. was Able to detect thatat her Exam just before starting her Spay Surgery & Called us to get our OK to remove the 2 Teeth before they became Abcessed. We of course said please do remove those teeth.\r\n This saved us Money (as Shelby was going under anisteisa for the Spay anyway) & it saved Pup from the Pain & Danger Abcess's can cause.\r\n I since have adopted a Stray Kitten from the Ellensburg Animal Shelter & Dr. Mcfadden also did her Surgery by my Request.\r\n Thanks to Ellensburg Animal Shelter for letting me Choose the Vet of my Choice.\r\n\r\n So I Chose them Initially for Price, But they will have me for a Life long Client as I really feel they care about their Patients. Another nice thing about them is they always comment about your pets personallity & what a Joy your pet was to deal with.\r\n Finding a New Dr. or Vet is a Hard thing to do. I was lucky enough to Find the Best my first time around.\r\n Don't let the Decor of Lobby Put You Off.\r\n They are a Very Clean Facility.\r\nI do think they need a Floor in the Lobby without Carpet though , so it would be Easier to Sanatized, we all know how some Pets will have Potty accidents when you least expect them, & Some Dogs are Nervous at the Vets. \r\n This is a Vet Clinic I Trust with my Pets Health Care Issues.\r\n If You need a Vet in Ellensburg Please give them a Try.

    Pros

Lower Prices than several other Vets in Town, Caring & knowlegable,Trustworthy

    Cons

Need Big Sign By the Road for there Entrance

    by: sarahscott

My dogs have been going to Critter Care for many years. Hobo and Poncho are getting up there in age, but when we took them in for checkups, Dr. Tea said Poncho seems to be aging backwards! My hubby and I think it is due to herbal supplements like spirulina, alfalfa, B vitamins, FlexNow (Shea nut extract for arthritis) and Glucosamine chondriotin.\n\nWe've always had good experiences there - they are gentle and sweet with the animals.

    Pros

    Open to holistic medicine

    by: stasya13

This is not my regular vet but I got my cat micro-chipped here. I was in and out in under a half hour and my cat is very feisty. I called around and they were the cheapest in town for micro-chipping.

  • 16. vet. services

    by: lillians

I switched to this vet when I started rescuing cats. Her staff know you when you call; they know your animals. When one of my cats had to be put to sleep they were very sympathatic. They are very gentle with our pets and keep good records. When one of my cats got very ill and I knew he was afraid he had never been away from home they let me come out and hold him and reassure him until he recovered. They are really good vets and staff.

    Pros

    Listens to the owner

  • 17. Top quality care and service

    by: Amy4422

I have used Critter Care since they first opened. She has really built this clinic into something more than just a "service." McFadden establishes lifelong relationships with clients with her quality of care, knowledgeable staff, and committment to this community.\r\n\r\nDr. Thea McFadden is a true animal advocate. She partners with local rescue groups, the shelter, and individuals in this community to improve the lives of animals. She recently treated some very ill kittens, altered them, and helped them all to get adopted out into their forever homes.\r\n\r\nI semi-adopted a stray cat years ago from the rental my husband and I had when we were first married. Knowing little about cats, I took the cat to Critter Care. Dr. McFadden really educated me and encouraged me on how to care for, what I found out to be, a very ill kitty. The cat I promised my hubby I wouldn't keep, is now our 8 year-old "Gladys." She'survived 2 moves, being lost for 5 weeks, a broken toe, a crazy catnip mishap, the dog, and 2 kids...she's our forever cat. \r\n\r\n"Thanks Thea for all your help and encouragement!"

    by: marigaines

Although Critter Care is not my usual vet, I have taken cats out there for various reasons over the years and always had a very positive experience. They are one of two vets used by Kittitas County Friends of Animals to assist with low cost spay/neuter efforts. They get a big thumbs up from me.

  • 21. Great place to take your pets

    by: clerfy

I have had many great experiences with Critter Care. They were always ver helpfull and gave the same amount of attention to each animal I brought in from my cats to my rats!! I even found a stray cat outside my house one morning and called to make sure it was okay if I brought her in, they didn't hesitate to help her and even though she didn't make it I knew that they treated her like she was one of their own. My cat Otis who had cancer went through two surgeries to remove tumors and it made it so much easier to take him to Critter Care since I knew he had a crush on Thea. :) This is a great place to take your animals and I would recommend it to friends and family!!
