  • 1. CARE Animal Shelter is Awesome!

    by: nitadiaz11

We went to CARE after searching on line for a puppy after my sweet dog Misty of 14 1/2 years passed away. We originally went there for a female but after looking at all the dogs we came across this little guy all alone in the last cage. He had just gotten there a few hours before us and when we saw him they let us open up the cage and he jumped up in my husband's lap and that was it! They were so wonderful at the shelter. They knew we didn't have a crate, they gave us one, they trusted us and followed up to make sure we got him to the vet to get checked out and get him neutered. We refer everyone to CARE! We have gone back a few times to visit and to show them how big Wiley has gotten and to bring them supplies. All the volunteers and Gloria treat you like family! If you are in Ruskin, FL stop by there and adopt a pet! You'll be glad you did!

  • 3. Great Shelter!

    by: ztT4MP98988049

Great no-kill shelter based in Ruskin FL. They have inside and outside kennels for the dogs and three huge yards where the dogs get to play. The have a large cat house with three separate rooms for kittens, teenage and adult cats. Each room has a patio where the cats can lounge in the sun. This is an all volunteer shelter with one paid employee. This is where you want to be if you are a homeless dog or cat in the South Shore area. The shelter always needs donations and volunteers.

    Pros

Clean, large, lots of exercise for the animals and no crates!

    Cons

    None.
