I contacted every vet in our city to prepare for a neuter/declaw for my cat. I narrowed my choice to CountryView and Southside, only to find they are sister clinics. The phone staff was polite and very knowledgeable and the doctor was excellent. I was pleased to see a separate entrance for cats and dogs, which helps to keep the pets calmer. The cost of neuter included pre-surgical blood work and IV fluids during surgery - which wasn't offered by other vets. They called me when my kitten was out of surgery, kept him for 4 days to allow his paws to heal and helped me with a follow up virus with the same compassion and excellent care. One staff member made a small error on my bill, which they credited immediately. The cost, while considerable, was in line with all the other vets - only I think they gave more service for the same money. That equals greater value in my book. All in all, I am very happy with this vet and will remain with them as long as I live in Champaign.

    Pros

Excellent care, knowlegable staff, compassionate, qualified doctor

    Cons

    none apparent

Even if they are more expensive than where I currently take my dogs, they are well worth it. My Doberman just passed a week ago at home. When I called my regular vet to ask what to do (I wanted him cremated) he just said call this number, they'll do a home removal and that was it. When I called the number they were on VACATION for 2 more weeks. Needless to say, I was crying, I called my vet back and asked him what to do-he didn't know, but recommended that I call Country View. While they don't do home removal, I brought my dog to the clinic, they came outside to the car with a stretcher, and carried him in, they sent me a card afterwords, and really seemed sincere while they were helping me. As long as the return of the cremains goes okay, I will be switching all my other animals to this clinic--it was clean, even though they are more expensive, it's probably going to be worth it.

    Pros

caring, sincere, treated my dog with dignity

    Cons
