  • 1. The very best in Veterinary care

    by: michaeljfo

Best vet I have ever been to in my life. Dr. Coundreay was their for my old Basset Hound Happy till his dying day, and she kept him comfortable and HAPPY till the end. She did everything that was necessary to extend his life and quality of life, without a barrage of unnecessary, invasive, expensive tests to confirm the obvious......... he was a really, really old dog. She always advised me of all options in relation to his care, and was available to answer my many questions, even getting back to me after hours on her own time. She has also treated my other dog Murphy regularly who had siezures, but no longer does, Thank You. When Murphy came to her, he was terrified of vets after a bad experience at VCA, who seem to find it necessary to wrestle a dog to the ground and muzzle him, rather than take the time to get to knoe know the dog. On Murphy's first visit, Dr. Coundreay got down on the floor with him and took the time to get to know him. I do understand there are instances where muzzling is a smart precaution, but when it is a policy in place of taking the time to know the dog it is wrong and only makes for a more stressful visit. Murphy still knows we are at the vet when we arrive, but when he sees Dr. Coundreay, he's like oh good, there's a friendly, familiar face in this scary place. More recently my Doberman Stella required a toe amputation due to what unfortunately turned out to be a malignant melanoma. Due to ongoing treatments for Stella for other health issues , I was a bit unprepared financially for this surgery, but it was necessary and she worked with me to find a way. As it appears that this has now spread to her lungs, we will be seeing an oncologist she reffered me to and though I am unsure of the outcome, I know Dr. Coundreay will be there to answer my many questions along the way, as annoying and relentless as I may be in asking them. She has again made herself available sometimes on her off time to return my calls after her busy day has ended. I can't imagine using another vet, and will continue to rely on Dr. Coundreay's advice, even while under the care of the Oncologist. On occasions that Dr. Coundreay was unavailable we have seen Dr. Clay. It is my understanding that he is a very skilled surgeon. He did the actual surgery on Stella ( Thank you) who is healing nicely after just two weeks. He was very good with her, but I must admit, both Stella and Murphy get far more excited to see Dr. Coundreay. Both of these vets are amazing and obviously do what they do out of a strong love of Animals. Their Staff is also incredible and helpful. My favorite is the very animated, always helpful and efficient Rhonda. Just sitting in that waiting room, even with a bleeding dog can better my mood and change my day!

  • 4. The whole office and staff care about animals

    by: Katiemissy

Both Drs really care about animals. One has served on the Board of the SPCA for many years. The other stepped up when the Katrina dogs arrived and did their care and Vet services. They are very active in caring for the SPCA rescues as well. \nThe staff members have been there for years and have contributed their part toward helping animals as well. \nA great place to take your animals for health care.

    Pros

    Very experienced vets and staff.
