We have transfered a few puppies there from our shelter before and the staff there was always so nice! They were excited to have the puppies and even took the time to email me a few pictures of the puppies with their new owners. The did a great job and I would recomment people in that area stop out and see how nice it is themselves.

    Pros

    Great staff

    Cons

    Small shelter

I adopted a cat from there, she was 9 at the time. When I met her, she had an attitude, expected of course, they had had an open house. She was a beautiful white cat and I couldn't take my eyes off of her. I placed an application after discussing the cat, friendly, kid friendly, litter trained, etc. I was approved, so I went and picked her up. Unfortunately, she hated kids, and bit mine as well as my husband, sprayed the corners of the house, it was a nightmare. I called them to relinquish her due to biting my kids and ruining the carpet and drywall/mopboards in my house within a month, they refused to take her back. The lady on the phone said no, and blew me away. The cat had been there for a long time, but to refuse to take her back was wrong! I didn't want my money back, I didn't ask for it back! To this day, I still cannot get all the smell out of my basement no matter how much bleach I used, repaneled and new flooring!

    Pros

    Very clean

    Cons

    Customer service needs work.

  • 9. Great Place to Adopt from

    by: svrifner

My family adopted a dog fromt this shelter in December of '07. When we went there it was very clean and the staff was very nice and polite. When we took the new dog to our vet, they said that he was a little "chunky." It was nice to know that the Human Society made sure he didn't go hungry. So far he has been a great dog and I would glady go back and get another dog from them if my house was bigger and we had more room!

    Pros

Very Clean, Very Nice, Animals well taken care of

    Cons

    none
