  • 2. Great service in old clinic

    by: kcovey26

This place provides a great service for Portland pets. He is very friendly and explains things in layman's terms even if it means saying it two or three times. I was very impressed with the quality of service and would shutter to think of the price for his expertise should they remodel the office to look like a brand new facility.

    Pros

    Wonderful cardiologist

    Cons

    price and facility

  • 3. Superb cardiology care!

    by: daezusgrace

Dr. Gary Wood is an excellent cardiologist, and he has a huge heart (no pun intended). He is highly detailed in his care of his patients, which is so important in all specialty fields, but especially in cardiology where everything is complex and precision in care is critical. \n\nI feel Dr. Wood takes extreme care to be sure my cats receive the best medical care possible, and that's saying a lot! He's treated two of my cats with heart disease, one of whom had progressive and severe disease, and he helped this cat live a comfortable and contented life for many more months that he would have otherwise.\n\nI've had a few complaints about the staff at the clinic, as they've sometimes been a little unfriendly and seemed somewhat disinterested, and at times a bit rude, all of which are very unexpected at a small specialty clinic. I have suspicions as to why this is, however - I suspect that the field of cardiology (where everything is so darned complicated), may cause staff to be more distant towards clients than in other fields, lest the client start asking questions that no one other than the doctor could possibly answer!\n\nDr. Wood's knowledge and manner more than make up for any shortcomings in the staff. He's brilliant at what he does, and he is a genuinely nice, gentle, and caring person.

    Pros

    Superb cardiology care

    Cons

Staff has been less than pleasant at times
