Dr. Shepard also maintains the Wildlife Sanctuary where he houses many wild cats , such as tigers. lynx, etc. They have been rescues from all over the US. He has an Open House there on the third Sunday of every month starting in March. It is easy to find just outside of Uniontown.

  • 6. Great Vet

    by: emcmanus80

Dr. Sheperd was the vet we took my pets to when I was younger so I took my pets there when I moved out. Unfortunately his prices went up so I found a cheaper place to go but he is a wonderful vet. Although his prices did go up he is not in this for the money, he truely cares about the animals he is treating.

    Pros

    Great staff

    Cons

    Too Expensive

  • 7. Best vet!

    by: strixnstones

Dr. S. has been my vet through numerous cats and dogs and I can honestly say I've never had a better, more patient, understanding animal doctor. He is willing to do everything medically possible to save your animal and improve their lives. What totally endeared me, was how he sat with us when my Collie had to be put down (shattered hip), then he never flinched at treating my Rott/Lab mix (despite his huge size) and he has a great deal of patience (and humor) handling my not-so-friendly chi.

    Pros

knowledgeable, caring, willing to do whatever it takes, emergency hours

    Cons

    only one Dr. S.

Dr. Sheperd has been our Vet for 16 years. He is so kind and so good with our dogs. He explains everything so we never have to worry about anything. He always makes sure that all their health needs are discussed and taken care of. The Staff are wonderful people who really care, they are kind and they are so helpful. I can call about ANYTHING and they also treat me with such respect and answer all and any questions I have. They all are No. 1 in my book and always will be.

    by: mnyak

Dr. Sheperd and his staff have taken care of our animals for 15 years. We have had several emergencies and have always had the best of care for our family. Dr. Sheperd has many contacts at various specialty clinics, e. g. Ohio State, Northview Animal Hospita, and will rely on their expertise of a difficult problem arises. The staff is always kind and ready to listen and help. We love Dr. Sheperd and his staff.

  • 15. Dr Sheperd is awesome!

    by: LaurenS

When I lived in Uniontown, this was the vet I went to. I adopted an abandoned cat who had terrible health problems. . . infested with worms, underweight, severe respitory infection, and managed to scratch his lower eye lid so he had a huge red blister on his eye. The staff there are so friendly and kind, and Dr. Sheperd is a fabulous vet. He never misled me or lied. He charged very reasonable prices. BuddyKat recovered tremendously within a few months. During that time we went to Camelot at least once a week because of his health problems, mainly his eye. Dr Shepherd thought that Buddy would have to have his eye surgically removed initially, but the eye was saved. They have such reasonable prices too. Dr. Shepherd also runs a wild animal rescue for orphaned and abused exotics. I've been there and believe it or not, those tigers and lions, etc. actually seem content. They are very well taken care of, and I am glad the sanctuary exists for all of the poor exotics that people get as pets.

    Pros

    professional, friendly, caring

    Cons

    none
