I got my appointment (sort of emergency) within a day of calling. My cat, Sausage, is probably the most vet-hating cat in the world; growling, hissing, swatting, and actual screaming (no pain, just irate). Doc and Kathy still made sure that he got a good exam, despite his fighting. I feel awful for how bad he was, but they didn't make me feel that way. They understood that he was just supermad and rolled with his punches. It's only been 24 hrs since his visit, but I already see improvement in the healing of his itchy, scratched open patch (food allergy, which I didn't know cats could have) with the medication. Also, Doc didn't want to immediately put him under and scrape the area for a biopsy. He assured me that a food allergy is very common and to try going back to his old food. He wanted to try that first before we went the more invasive route. He also assured me that either decision I MADE (very important to give me the choice: try medication and change food back to old or biopsy which would be way more invasive) would not be life threatening. Being a first-time pet owner of an animal other than a fish or hamster, I really didn't know what I was in for with the SauCat. I had to call them today because I was a bit confused about one of the meds. I quickly, and very nicely, got the answer I needed right away. I really just can't thank them all enough. Also, as noted in other reviews, the clinic is very, very clean which I also feel is extremely important. One more note, I would pay anything in the world for my cat, but they don't charge like they know that.

    Pros

    thorough and kind

  • 3. Great vet for my kitties!

    by: mpen

Have been taking our cats there for 11 years, since both of them were kittens. I like the fact that we don't have to deal with dogs and other critters in the waiting room. It makes the visit slightly less traumatic for our cats. The staff has always been gentle and courteous with our kitties, and seem to really love what they are doing. Thank you!!

    Pros

Always courteous; gentle with our cats; animals seem to like the staff

    Cons

Sometimes they run late for appointments

  • 4. BETHEL PARK CAT CLINIC THE GOD OF VETS...

    by: amylw2009

So, let me first tell you how this NIGHT MARE started. I got laid off from my job; however that does not mean that my cats will suffer, so instead of taking them to a local vet animal hospital like I usually would , (don't know if I can say their name). To get there yearly shots, I found a low cost spay & neuter clinic in Penn hills to get their shots for a lower price. I thought I hot the jackpot. WRONG! My little baby girl Pretty Kitty had some scabs all over her little body, a cause from her having a reaction to fleas. They always manage to get them every year. So I’m at this place thinking they will be able to tell me what to do or give me something. IT WAS A NO. I couldn't even finish asking, do you believe they wouldn't give her anything or at least have the Dr. look at her. She was biting her self in front of them. The vet tech's there were very unprofessional. They couldn’t even get them out of their carriers correctly, they were such in a hurry they got their little legs stuck, I had to stwp in and say” wait a minute lets slow down a second I’ll take care of this” then the girl said, “this happens all the time” I said on 20 years of owning animals I never had this happen at a Dr.’s office. If I I go on to talk about them then I'll run out of room to talk about how great the Bethel Park cat clinic is. So, I'm there waiting for my other cat to get finished I called the local hospital and told them her situation do you believe they wanted me to pay a $100.00 emergency fee plus everything else. Cause I din’t have an appointment. Pretty gets this every year sadly, so they knew her medical condition and what she would need. Didn’t matter. When the economy is like this not a good thing to do. Let’s just say I would have to pay over $200.00 for freaking prednisone and a good flea preventer. BUT THEN I MET THE GOD OF VETS, Someone said ": oh you live in South Park, why don't you try the "Bethel Park Cat Clinic" I can't believe I never noticed where it was at. The sign is right in your face too, when your on that road. I ride past there all the time. Usually small practices are usually expensive not MY NEW VET. THEY ARE SO AWESOME! So, I get out leave my boyfriend and the kids (my cats are my kids) in the car, I run in, I’m soon as I walk in the place is very cat friendly, clean I noticed, didn't smell like urine like most places do, and I’m greeted by a very nice vet tech. I'm in tears telling her Pretty Kitty's situation and you could tell she knew I was up set. She says, ok well bring her on in, I hugged her and brought her in. I only had to wait about 15 minutes with no appointment I caught them at the end of the day. I didn’t get charged a no appointment fee or be told to come back tomorrow cause they were closing either. While I'm waiting there I was talking to 2 other people in the waiting room one had a cat that was 18 and another owner had a cat that was 21. That tells you something about that vet right there. Cats that age, the vet care is good. So, they take us in and he looks at her checks her out, and says yes, she has an allergic reaction etc. I tell him it just started a week and a half ago , I gave her that store flea medicine, flea dipped her, gave her an oatmeal bath and explained I was just at another vets office thinking they would do something, honestly I was embarrassed to tell them I took them there to get there shots cause of my current laid off situation. Honestly they weren't offended at all. I think they were happy that I don't use me being laid off as an excuse to not care for my kids. (PLEASE KNOW I WILL NEVER TAKE THEM TO THAT SPAY AND NUETER CLINIC AGAIN )the vet tech's were 18 or 19 years old it was bad. , I didn't ike how they handled my kids, got their feet stuck trying to yank them out of the carrier, when you think about the gas I spent to get there really wasn't worth it) So, anyways, he gave her a thorough physical, and like any parents you always want to be there in the room helping them look them over, well the Dr. and the vet tech took control for me. I didn't have to help them hold her, and SHE DIDN"T GRAW at them either, usually she does. So, her flea treatments & dewormers for 2 months FOR BOTH MY CATS, YES BOTH, then for pretty they gave her antibiotics, prednisone and stuff for her coat. And explained to me why store flea medicine doesn’t work. The store stuff also made her very sick too. Please all be careful with that. Go to a vet when they get fleas please/ The price was less than what I paid last year when I took her to a local hospital, and they only gave me prednisone, and flea medicine. And nothing for my other cat. Fleas spread, indoor cats get them also you would think they would know that. It makes sense why he gave us an antibiotic for her and the stuff for her coat too. Fleas and mosquitos do cause infections and worms. At the end the vet the explained everything to me, showed me how to give her the medicine. Last year it took Pretty probably about 2 weeks b4 she was back to her normal self, then I had to take her back again and pay an outrageous bill not this year it took her 4 days to recover and she is great. Back to normal. . PLUS THEY CALLED TO CHECK UP ON HER. Like my grandmother says, it's been since the 1950's since Dr.'s call and checked up on you. I'm so thankful for the Bethel Park Cat Clinic" THANKS SO MUCH Their prices are wonderful, the knowledge is at Einstein level, the service is 1000 stars. HIGHLY RECOMEND. PLEASE DONT USE STORE FLEA MEDICINE, your better off not using anything then. Thanks BETHEL PARK CAT CLINIC! WE LOVE YOU!

Dr. El Nahal is very kind, caring and knowledgeable. His staff treats clients as though they are family. Since they only treat cats, it is a better environment for cats while they wait to be seen. i have taken my cats to this clinic for years and have complete confidence in Dr El Nahal.

I am a first time cat owner and I asked around before deciding on a vet to take my cat to. I didn't care if it was the most expensive vet in the area as long as my cat was getting the best care. I cannot even begin to tell you the number of times I have called the office paniced over something my cat was or wasn't doing and if the person who answered the phone couldn't help me they immediately found someone who could. I swear it was like having a newborn baby and worrying at every noise and meow. Doc is wonderful with my cat and my cat does pretty well with the vet. All of Doc's staff is very kind and helpful. I feel that the fees are fair (and honestly some of the best prices I've found). I would reccoment Bethel Park Cat Clinic to anyone!\r\n

    Pros

  • 12. The best cat vet I know!

    by: LaurenS

I absolutely love the Bethel Park Cat Clinic. I trust Dr. El Nahal with my cat's life, for sure. The other staff are so nice too. You get individualized care there. They remember you and your pet and treat me and my cat very well. I really trust them. They take time to answer questions, keep in contact with me, and truly care. They've never overcharged me, lied to me, or asked me to do expensive or unnecessary things. Some vets will try to get you to buy treatments and tests and things that aren't necessary. I can safely say that this WILL NOT happen at this clinic. Dr El Nahal and the vet techs are so honest with me. Very kind people!

    Pros

    Friendly, honest, clean, thorough, fabulous!

    Cons

    none!
