We stopped at this hotel for an overnight stay from Iowa to Colorado. There are not many hotels to choose from in Ogallala so we chose the one with the pool so kids could burn off some energy.
Yes, the pool facility was a hit with the kids. It is older and nothing fancy but they didn't mind. There is also a large grassy area (I mean LARGE) perfect for dog walking/BBQing/picnicing. Both located adjacent to a playground with swingset, teeter-totter, monkey bars. We mangaged to see a bunch of small frogs there that intrigued the kids.
On the downside, the front desk wasn't exactly hospitable to my husband and he experienced a long time waiting to check in while the clerk attended to her phone call and didn't acknowledge him. The rooms are ok but old and the hotel looks like it could benefit from some updating. The steak restaurant next door was good, but again it was packed and had a pretty long wait time for a table.
If you're looking for a hotel your DOG will LOVE, this is probably it--
