    by: kaydoubleu

I took my 6 month old puppy who was really sick here, didn't know where else to go. $80 just to give a diagnose, then $745 for an over night stay! They said that recovery would be a 5 day process and that if I decided to take him back home with no treatment that night then he would not make it. Claimed he had Parvo virus, which is highly contagious between K9s. Sadly I had to put him down due to not having $745. I also have a chihuahua that is now 7 months old who was the same age at the time, she is not sick and is as happy as can be, both pups ate from the same bowl, drank from the same water source and was around each other very often. So tell me how one pup has a dangerous virus and the other is not effected (both pups up to date in shots) I HIGHLY doubt my pup had the parvo virus and the diagnoses was wrong. They gave me the choice of the $745 for treatment for the night, or $150 just for fliuds( dixie cup of water on a wild fire as the "doctor" put it) or put him to sleep and think about my other pet. I will NEVER agian bring any of my pets here, if they really cared about their patients they would offer a payment plan to ensure the oh so loved, non abandoned, un beaten pets who unfortunately got sick got the medical attention needed. Think about taking your sick child to the ER and them saying s/he would make it through the night with out medical attention, but we don't take payments, Thats is the way I felt, so unless you have a bunch of money, and money is just not an issue for you PLEASE DO NOT TAKE YOUR LOVED PET HERE. s/he may leave with you in a box to bury.

    Pros

    Hours

    Cons

    Price, doesnt take payments

  • 2. great service in an emergency

    by: ScottNWA

I have taken my dog Jake here for a snake bite and my cat Max for a choking incident. They did a great job of taking care of them. It is true that it is quite expensive - about $400 for an overnight stay with veterinary care. But if your animal needs some emergency attention after hours this is your only option. The staff there is great, friendly, knowledgeable and effecient. Dr. Getty the head vet was wonderfully calm and efficient. You will need to pick up your animal before 7am and take them to your regular vet.

    Pros

    high quality care

    Cons

    expensive - after hours only

    by: doglover456

It costs one hundred dollars min. to get anything done at this place. They may not tell you this when you walk in with your sick animal, but once you're in they won't let you out w/o payment and will threaten to call the police if you can't pay them on the spot. They seemed really money focused to me. It cost me $300 after spending $600 the day before. I'm sure the doors which lock from both sides are to be sure they get paid. Where is the fire marshall in Springdale anyway? The business manager is a thin chain smoking woman & provided the worst personal service I have ever experienced. If you like to be locked in a place, called a liar and threatened this is where you should take your animal. Dale W.

    Pros

Great hours & some good staff

    Cons

Dangerous locking doors which should are fire hazzard

  • 6. SOO glad to have this facility!!

    by: CharliV

We've used this facility many, many times over the past 4 years. Without them being available, we might have experienced tragic outcomes with our pets. \r\n\r\nGenerally, the staff there is competent and caring. There are some doctors there that we've clashed with and/or just weren't that impressed with. Typically, if we feel we need to go to the clinic, we'll call to see who's on duty and make our decision to go or not based on that. If it's a vet we don't like and we think our pet will be ok until morning, we wait. \r\n\r\nEven though the costs for services are much higher than our regular vet, I'm glad to have this facility available. \r\n\r\n

    Pros

    24 hour and holiday care

    Cons

The doctor on duty varies - some doctors I don't like are often there

  • 7. Great Idea

    by: vjcook

This is something that Northwest Arkansas really needs, and the staff (lead by Dr. Getty and Susan the office manager) do their best to make sure that every patient receives the best of care. I worked here, so I know the place is clean and the patients are well-looked after. The only real problem is that clients are separated from their pets, unlike regular clinics where the client may remain with the pet at least during the examination.

    Pros

The staff is polite and knowledgeable, and the services provided are necessary.

    Cons

    Very expensive.

  • 8. Great service and a benefit to the community!

    by: jscmom15

I LOVE the Animal Emergency Clinic. They have great staff and give great care. A service you can rely on to be there when your regular veterinarian isn't. Yes it may be somewhat expensive...but what do humans pay when they go the Emergency Room?? Completely understandable. We are so fortunate to have a service like the AEC of NWA. THANK YOU staff of the Emergency Clinic.... THANK YOU!

    Pros

Emergency Care after the regular clinic's close

    Cons

Somewhat expensive...but understandable for emergency care. Hense the word EMERGENCY.

  • 9. full service, top quality

    by: drworm

It is nice to have a full service hospital for after hours emergency care or cases requiring around the clock intensive care. They have 3 full time doctors that specialize in emergency and critical care. The new location has a lot more space. The cost is going to be higher than your day practice because they are set up for emergencies only.

    Pros

    emergency specialist

    Cons

    cost (like all ER's)
