  • 1. Great place to know about

I love that Carolina Veterinary Specialists is nearby. It is such a comfort to know that if something should happen after my vet is closed I will have somewhere to take my animals. I have had to do this a few times and because my pets are my "kids" it is worth the extra expense. During the day the hospital is staffed with veterinary specialists (which I have also used a few times). This includes an oncologist, a cardioligist, a neurologist, etc etc. They truly care and are very comforting when the time comes that nothing else can be done for your animal. It's a place that anyone with pets should be aware of in case of an emergency.

    Pros

    Open 24/7, veterinary specialists

    Cons

    Expensive

I've been there a few times, and they have always been great to work with. They did an excellent job determing what was wrong with one of my Corgi's when my regular vet could not diagnose. And, one time I found a kitten that had been hit by a car, and this was at 5:30 pm on a Friday evening. I couldn't find a vet willing to stay late, so I took it to these guys (on the other side of town) and they took it in, and treated it. One of the assistants ended up adopting her. I felt so much better about that.

    Pros

    Great staff, very gentle

    Cons

    So far away
