  • 1. Poor puppy

    by: tigua

I had a car throw a puppy out of it as it sped down our street. I was unable to keep the poor pup due to my living arrangements at the time. Animal Defense League took the pup and it is a no-kill shelter. The boy was flea infested and had a few scratches. They took him right in and gave him a medication to force the fleas off of him and I was able to call and check on him. He was adopted shorty after that. They also evaluate the pets they have up for adoption so you know their personality and behavior before considering them for an adoption. They are wonderful!

    Pros

    The best

    Cons

need more donations of food, etc.

These folks do great work and it is a wonderful place to go adopt a pet. Sometimes they even run fun specials to try to help adoptions. Right now if you adopt two you get free vacinations for life.

    Pros

Great job of getting the word out

    Cons

    none

  • 3. Is this No Kill Shelter Killing Animals?

    by: SarahEnglish

I watched the Animal Defense League expose on Fox News on Tuesday night. I was really concerned, so I watched it again on KABB's website. Oh my goodness. Some of the things that had just flew by me during newscast - "They don't put down animals with medical problems as a COMMON practice" What? Does that mean that occasionally animals that can be saved aren't? Mr Aaron sent a letter to Fox stating that the 80 animals that were put down only had the flu - something that's easily treatable? They killed cats just because they had Leukemia? \r\nThat volunteer said that he (or she?) had to quit going because of ANIMAL ABUSE? I'm really scared for the animals. \r\nFox did a great job in exposing these people, but I'm really hoping that a more thorough investigation can be done. \r\nPlease see ADL controvery Nov 25 2008 at http://kabb.com/vod/videoplayer.shtml \r\nAnimal Defense League of Texas\r\n11300 Nacogoches Rd\r\nSan Antonio, TX 78217\r\nThank you \r\n

Wonderful place to adopt a pet. I have 2 cats from the ADL. One of the cats I adopted was a senior and they have a first-rate senior program that includes free vaccines for life. Highly recommended.
