  • 1. Great place to adopt a pet

    by: katnboots1976

This is a great place to adopt a cat or dog. The people who work/volunteer there are very animal loving people. They work hard to match the animals into the perfect home.

    Pros

    No kill, fostered animals

    Cons

    none

  • 2. no kill

    by: jduchette

There is so much devotion at places like this. They all need help to expand their services. \r\n\r\nI wish that all animals could be so lucky to have help like this. We have so much power to help. I am so happy that no kill shelters are out there. \r\n\r\nI wish more people would look into a no kill shelter for a pet or any shelter for a pet before going to a pet store!

    Pros

    no kill

    Cons

    none

  • 4. Care of the animals

    by: hheilmann

A wonderful place for dogs and cats without a home.\r\nThey try very hard to make the area as much like a home setting as possible, until a home is found for the animal.

    Pros

    Very caring staff

    Cons

They are limited on the amount of animals they can care for.

  • 5. No kill shelter

    by: decker1

This is the only no kill shelter in Louisville. Because it is a no-kill it can be difficult to get your pet into the shelter as others have to be adopted out 1st. They offer a photo album for adoptable dogs/cats that have not made it into the shelter that are being housed with original family or foster. The shelter is always clean and each pet has a comfortable space to rest in as they await their new home. The shelter is run primarily by volunteers and 100% of donations. Please adopt today at animal care society. You can visit them online here http://www.animalcaresociety.org/index.php

    Pros

clean, no kill, reputable, adoptions, spayed and neutered

    Cons

    nothing noted
