Joanne Intile, DVM, DACVIM
Dr. Joanne Intile, DVM, DACVIM was raised and educated in Long Island, NY, where she received her Bachelor and Master of Science degrees from Hofstra University.
She completed her doctorate in veterinary medicine degree at Cornell University and went on to complete a one year internship in small animal medicine, surgery, and emergency and critical care at Long Island Veterinary Specialists. She then returned to Cornell University to complete a three year residency program in veterinary medical oncology. She is board certified by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine.
Dr. Intile recently moved to Maryland, where she is working as a veterinary oncologist at a large specialty referral hospital just outside of D.C. and adjusting to life outside of the great state of New York.
Dr. Intile's professional interests include developing new rescue therapy protocols for canine lymphoma, furthering the use of vitamin D as anti-cancer therapy, and carrying out palliative and hospice care for veterinary cancer patients.
When she isn't working or writing about her work, Dr. Intile can usually be found in the gym, outside running, playing tennis, shopping, wine-tasting, traveling, or spending time at home with her three cats, Nadir, Sepsis, and Shandy. She can also be found with her husband, another veterinary specialist (a surgeon), with whom she just recently exchanged vows, and who, she is happy to report, lovingly tolerates her obsession with all things feline.
