Law students at Yale University have a new library study partner to help alleviate the stress -- a dog. Video after the jump.
Students have been hounding the Yale Law Library circulation desk to check out Monty, a border terrier mix and "certified library therapy dog," for 30-minute sessions.
Therapy dogs have long been used in stress-filled locations such as hospitals, retirement homes and even disaster areas, so why not Ivy League law libraries?
"It is well documented that visits from therapy dogs have resulted in increased happiness, calmness and overall emotional well-being," law librarian Blair Kauffman wrote in a March 10 memo.
The free, three-day pilot pet therapy program will begin next Monday. And no, professors won't take the excuse, The dog ate my homework.
