Lucky, the rescued Maltese declared by the Guinness Book of World Records to be "the animal photographed with the most famous people," lost her battle with cancer on Tuesday. She lived to be about 15 years old.

Lucky was photographed with 363 celebrities according to Guinness, including Kristen Stewart, Kim Kardashian, Snoop Dogg, Betty White, and Richard Branson.

Her owner, Wendy Diamond, adopted Lucky in 1999, after which she dedicated her life to animal welfare.

Diamond and Lucky visited Russia, Greece, and Mexico to advocate for animals. They were also involved in widespread charity work, including raising funds and awareness for the Humane Society of New York.

Lucky’s last public appearance was as the "chair dog" for the American Cancer Society’s "Bark for Life" on May 6, 2012, in Manhattan.

"Lucky’s life and her legacy of saving the underdog will be celebrated and her mission continued," said Diamond to The New York Times.
