UPDATE 3/30: New lot numbers added and contact info for product refund/replacement

Natura Pet has expanded a voluntarily recall on limited lots of California Natural pet food due to potential Salmonella contamination.

Natura Pet began recalling certain lots after it was alerted to a single case of Salmonella in a product from a different brand, but that was part of the same production window as the affected lots of California Natural dog food. The recall was then expanded on March 29 to include the following California Natural pet food lots, including newly added puppy and kitten food. Click here for a full list of items affected by this Natura Pet recall.

Check your packaging for the related UPC number to see if your lot has been affected.

Salmonella can affect both animals eating the product and humans handling the pet product.

If you or your pet had contact with the recalled product, you are advised to watch for symptoms that may develop. Common symptoms associated with Salmonella poisoning include diarrhea, bloody diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, or abdominal pain. If you, your pet, or a family member are experiencing these symptoms, you are urged to contact a medical professional.

At the time of this release there have been no reported illnesses associated with this recall.

For further information or a product replacement or refund call Natura toll-free at 1-800-224-6123 (Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM CST), or use their website contact form.
