A Bakersfield, California couple are happy this week after they saved the life of Bubba, their chihuahua, following the shock of his life.

Bubba's owners Della and Nick Hendricks sprang into action last Wednesday when they saw Bubba had chewed through an electric blanket's cord and was not breathing.

Nick and Della quickly performed CPR and mouth-to-mouth resuscitation and were able to revive him after about six to ten minutes. They then rushed him to a nearby animal hospital.

Although Bubba suffered minor burns, he is expected to make a full recovery.
