Ollie

Afghan Hound

An adotable dog in Ottawa, ON

  • Adult
  • Large
  • Male

Meet Ollie, a happy-go-lucky, 8 year old Afghan Hound. Ollie has been loved and cared for his entire life and it shows in the way he interacts with everyone that he meets.

Ollie is a happy, affectionate and playful fellow. He settled into his foster home quickly and gets along well with the resident dogs and cat. Ollie is fine with dog savy cats in the house but his foster family does not allow him to play outdoors with the cat as he does have a higher prey drive and will chase small animals.

This wonderful dog loves a good run daily and is relaxed and quiet in the house, choosing to lounge on his bed and play with his favourite toy - Hugo the Blowfish. Ollie is a delight to groom and will hop up onto the grooming table to be brushed out when asked. He enjoys car rides, walks through the local Farmers' market and supervising his foster family's Sunday breakfast on the patio at the local Bistro.

Ollie is a sighthound and cannot be trusted off-leash in an unfenced area. He does however have lovely recall in an enclosed area and can be trusted to return when called in a securely fenced area. His foster home has a fenced 7 acre play yard to keep him safe and allow him to run.

Ollie has been diagnosed as hypo-thyroid and will require medication to manage this condition at a cost of approximately$25/mth. Ollie's adoption fee has be reduced to reflect this.

Although Ollie is currently being fostered in a home with young children, a home without young children or with older children is preferred. Ollie is used to having the company of other dogs around and will do well in a home with other relaxed and social dogs. This handsome boy is neutered, UTD with his vaccinations and is micro chipped. For more information about Ollie and to complete an adoption application please visit us at www.willowahr.jimdo.com. An adoption donation of $300.00 applies.
