Beautiful Tootsie is very excited to announce that she's ready to look for her forever home! This sweet girl came to SNORT after living the first 5-6 years of her life in a puppy mill. Although she was very scared when she first arrived at her foster home, Tootsie has blossomed into a happy, friendly pug whose greatest pleasure is following her human around.

With the help of the resident dogs in her foster home, Tootsie is slowly learning how to play. She does enjoy the company of other dogs, as long as they're respectful of her. She has been know to become dominant at times with the resident female dog however this same behavior has not been witnessed with the resident male dog. Given Tootsie's past, this may be her first interaction with other female dogs. Therefore, she will probably do best in a home with male dogs or submissive female dogs. For the most part, Tootsie is a quiet, reserved girl who will do better in a quieter home. Puppy mills are a tremendously scary place and even though she's excelling, Tootsie still startles every so often. Because of this, we feel she will be most comfortable in a home without young children.

Tootsie is crate trained, however she does not like to spend entire days cooped up. She is still learning the ropes when it comes to potty training but she's come a long way in her foster home. We're certain that with a patient family who is understanding of her past she'll soon have this mastered. Because she is still learning, a family in which someone is home at least part of the day will be ideal. Tootsie's family must also be accepting of the fact that she may need to be taken outside at night. She is very good about alerting her family to her need to go. Tootsie currently sleeps with the resident dogs in her foster home but she has been know to bark in the middle of the night just to receive some love and belly rubs from her humans. It certainly sounds like she would love to share a bedroom with her forever family. Just be warned, we think she may be part rooster...she likes to get up early in the morning!

If you're looking for the perfect cuddle buddy to shower with love and affection, Tootsie might just be your girl. She's very excited to meet someone who is willing to teach her just how wonderful being a pug can be. Tootsie's adoption fee is $350 and she is currently being fostered near Philadelphia.
