Buddy is a 10 year old male Silky Terrier. He was left at a vet's office by his original owners and rescued by an employee there. They describe Buddy as a very energetic and healthy dog, friendly in general, but does have some strong tendencies under certain circumstances, he tends to be a dominant personality, as many small terriers are. His ideal adopter would be an assertive but compassionate leader with terrier experience. Someone without a really busy home. He loves to walk and is great on a leash. He will happily sit with you on the couch and watch tv or sit with you if you are working on the pc.
He is not great living with other dogs or cats, he is used to being the only pet. He is crate trained and very good in the house when walked sufficiently.
He is neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and does have his AKC papers from original owner. His hair is currently cut short like a puppy cut, but silkies do grow long, so do need professional grooming.
Buddy is not owned by the STCGNY, this is a referral posting to help find him the right home. His adoption will be private through the the couple who rescued him.
