Can you imagine -- this adorable girl was only 5 months old when someone drove her up into the Pryor Mountains and dumped her. She was found running out in the middle of the wilderness by a kind Samaritan and, after repeated attempts to look for or find the owner, nothing turned up. What a scary scenario for such a young, sweet girl! However, as we always say ... another person's loss is CERTAINLY our gain! As soon as we met her, we recognnized the Saluki ... although not pure, Lilly has so many of the Saluki traits. Here is a wonderful article about the Saluki personality - please read! http://www.petwave.com/Dogs/Breeds/Saluki/Personality.aspx Lilly is a fabulous girl who adores people and would do really well with older kids. Lilly is all about the "play" ... play, play, play! She loves her canine foster sister but tends to push and push hoping she can get her to play so some dogs may not relish that trait as much. She is great with all dogs and proved this past weekend that she can be very gentle with puppies. Lilly is incredibly athletic and needs to run every day. This girl is NOT a couch potato so if you lead a sedentary life style ... this is not the canine companion for you. Not a huge cuddler but loves to be with you and by your side. If left unattended in the yard, Lilly has shown a propensity for digging. Not in the lawn but in the dirt. She knows "sit" and "down" and "leave it" ... "come" still needs a bit of work. Is very curious about the cats in the household ... is not malicious but likes to poke them with her nose, probably wants them to play with her as well. Some kitties may not like the nose routine, however.
Housebroke, crate trained, spayed, up to date on shots and microchipped ... Lilly is such a joy to be around and we are truly hopeful that her new owner will be experienced with the Saluki breed and appreciate the wonderfulness that is Lilly. :)
