An adotable dog in Rockville, MD
WE ARE NO LONGER ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR BRIDGET BARDOT
Fostered in Silver Spring, MD
WE ARE NO LONGER ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR BB.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST!
Meet the lovely Bridget Bardot. BB is around 1 years old, and weighs 20lbs. She is very sweet, and will require an active family. BB is very friendly, and great with other dogs. She is good with kids, but being somewhat of a puppy still, will need obedience training. She would do best in a home with a fenced in yard, and another active (confident) dog to play with. A home where someone is home alot (or works from home), is best for her. She is a gorgous girl who has come a long way in just the short time she has been with our rescue.
This sweet survivor is one of several dogs Mutts Matter took into our rescue, after a puppy mill raid in Kentucky. Each of these dogs will be completely vetted and assessed before being placed into permanent homes. Right now, they are with experienced foster families who will determine the best type of home appropriate for each of our dogs. However, if you are interested, please feel free to fill out an application to begin the approval process. These dogs will not be placed on first come, first serve, adoption process. Each dog will be matched with an approved home that suits the dog's personality and needs. Also, we will only be placing these dogs in the MD, DC, VA, and PA areas, with the exception of a few areas of NY.
PLEASE NOTE: All of these dogs have lived most of their lives in cages. The majority have never seen the outdoors until their rescue. They are not housebroken or socialized. Each dog is still very shy, but ALL of the dogs have a look of hope in their eyes. None of these dogs have been deemed as aggressive. However some do have special needs (behavioral &/or medical) they may need to be addressed, so be sure to read each bio. Adoptive families will need to commit to training and socialization. The confidence and trust of each dog is not going to return over night, and could take several months (or longer) in some cases....each dog is different. Adopting one of these dogs is a commitment of love, time, and training. Do not apply if you are looking for a fully trained, confident dog. These dogs have been through trauma. Anyone interested in applying should educate themselves about the conditions in which these dogs 'lived' prior to rescue. We are grateful to Animal Rescue Corp for helping these dogs have a chance at a better life. You can see a short video of the seizure, including some of the dogs now in our care, at the following link: Puppymill Video
Please read the following links before you apply. This is a very informative article from the ASPCA that will educate you about what to expect when adopting a puppy mill survivor:
