Meet Scout. This gorgeous boy is about 35 lbs and 2 years old. He's neutered and all current on his vaccines. He was a stray that ended up in a rural VA shelter and then ran out of time. HT rescued him at the last minute and now he's safe here needing a loving home. We do not have a lot of info about his housebreaking or other behaviors yet as he's coming to us tomorrow. We'll update this when we get it. We are told he is good with other dogs and sweet with people. And we KNOW he's the cutest boy out there!

The adoption fee for this dog is $300, which helps with the cost of routine vet care. This fee INCLUDES spay/neuter. If the animal you are adopting is not already spayed/neutered, you will be required to sign a contract legally obligating you to have the animal altered. ***Note that puppy adoption fees most often help generate revenue that goes towards older, special needs animals that need our help. Surgeries, heartworm treatment, boarding costs....all things that often result in adoptable dogs and cats being left behind to be euthanized. So adopting a puppy saves not just one life, but many! Our adult animal fees range and are based on: fees we payto shetlers; vetting costs; transport costs and boarding costs. Some animals costs more than others to rescue so that is why our fees range from $275-$350.

You can save animals like this one by becoming a foster! Fosters are like way stations between high kill shelters and forever homes. We need fosters so that we can save dogs before they are euthanized at the shelters. If you are interested in becoming a foster, please check out our information about fostering.
